That's not my point though, my point is that Gatti was the only other biggest name champion who was ready, willing and able to fight Floyd. Tszyu had a shoulder injury, Hatton and Cotto weren't yet ready and Gatti was a champion on a hot streak. you're basically saying Floyd shouldn't have fought the only other guy available to him who could bring him the most money only because people felt like he would have beaten him anyway which is a lie because a lot of buzz was created behind that fight, many people thought that if anyone it would be Gatti who could do it, just like with Baldomir, Hatton, Corrales, Castillo, De La Hoya, Mosley and whoever else you can name..

truth is people always build up a guy only to bash him after Floyd destroys him and that's just how it is, they build the guy and the consensus is that the guy has a good chance to win and when he losses y'all act like that was never the consensus, like people all of a sudden forget all the **** they spewing before. I'm telling you man I love Boxing as a sport and it will always be my favorite but the fans are full of ****, seriously..

Yes Senchenko is the best, I am telling you, keep sleeping on these Ukrainians and Russians.
maybe Shumenov could bounce back and grow...youre right, he is young and has time to learn. but to call him the best at this moment is definitely premature. The first fight between Campillo and Shumenov was a tough, toss up fight, either guy deserved to win...The second fight was an obvious loss for Shumenov, most people will agree with that.

Ive seen Senchenko fight before, and I am not impressed. If he does become the best in the division, Ill be extremely surprised.

I might be playing these two up for the purposes of my post to be honest. I haven't even seen Shumenov fight, but I have seen yt videos of Senchenko, he is good, maybe not good to dominate the division though. I just got caught up in the nationalistic fevror after Pirog's win.

Out of my list previously I still see the following as the best in their respective divsions:

          Klitschkos
          Dzhinzhurik
          Pirog
          Darichyan

I think it's too early too tell with Lebedev.

Mayweather didnt even deserve bronze medal

He lost clearly in quarter finals against Cuban dude.

it was like 10-9 for Mayweather in USA so you know what time is it!

Floyd would have lost to a prime Kostya Tszuy, no doubt about it. Floyd would get owned by Senchenko if they fought today.

Former Soviet bloc fighters that have or will dominate their respective divisions north of Jr Welter (and bantam/ jr. bantam), we'll let you guys have the rest:

                  Klitschkos - HW
                  Denis Lebedev -CW
                  Beibut Shumenov -LHW
                  Lucian Bute - Super MW
                  Dmitry Pirog - MW
                  Sergei Dzhinzurik - Junior MW
Vyacheslav Senchenko - Welter (future undisputed king of the division)
Jr Welter - Leave this one out, if Kotelnik was younger, he would have beaten Khan
                  Bantame/Jr. Bantam - Raging Bull
                  You are a joke.

Even back then Floyd used his roll the shoulder defense. The interesting part about this fight is that Floyd's opponent was able to capitalize using his height and reach advantage and catch Floyd with his over hand rights. Floyd's roll the shoulder defense was ineffective as I suspected and I stated this in previous threads.

Note: I know this was a long time ago and Floyd improved but that right hand coming from a tall opponent should be able to get Floyd even today when Floyd uses his roll the shoulder defense.
