I found Pirog's style pleasing to watch.

After rewatching the fight, i have to say i enjoyed his style, he seems very basic, but very tough, takes a few too many shots, but he was enjoyable.

When they did the post fight interview i swore he was going to say "if he dies, he dies"

I don't usually jump on the bandwagon this early, but I enjoyed watching him and may see if i can find some older fights to see if enjoy those fights as well.

I wouldn't say he's basic, I think his style is complex and very difficult to figure out.

I want to jump on the badwagon but already some idiots are calling him the next great thing, which is a huge turn off.

I'll look forward to his next fight though for sure, but I'm not going to sit here and say he can beat so and so.

I didn't mean basic in the "not intermediate or advanced" in skill level, but he appeared to me to have solid fundamentals, wasn't throwing punches while off balance or flashy.

yeah, I was impressed with how calm and cool he was in the ring, he really did make the fight seem effortless for him. Adding to that it was his first time fighting in the US, on a big stage like that makes it even more impressive. He was even talkin trash or taunting jacobs in Russian a couple times in there. hehe not something you'd expect from a guy in his particular situation!

he shoulder rolled his way INTO exchanges instead of using it as a pure defensive tactic...

The hands raised standing over the downed body of Jacobs was epic... Perhaps a tad unsportsmanlike but epic none the less

Pirog, imo, has some of the most varied defensive and offensive arsenal. He is not basic at all.

I know he is bigger, but could you imagine how awkward a fight, but thoroughly entertaining, Pirog vs Shumenov would be?

                  I agree!!

I appreciate the skill of a defensive fighter but if you are not making the opponent pay it loses its appeal over the course of a match

Dimitry had great head movement and D but that wasnt enough he was stalking jacobs looking to put some hurt on him.

                  im a fan!!

That was the fight that came to my mind. Pirog has the potential to make Shumenov look like someone fighting a swarm of bees.
