as for the 150 lbs catchweight, margarito is a welterweight, how do you weight drain a welterweight at 150 lbs?
whats the point of 150???why fight for a 154 title at 150????if manny wants to weigh 150 fine??but why cap off the 154 division at 150??thats ridiculous

For whatever reason, Pacquiao's handspeed was waaaaaaay faster against De La Hoya than Cotto and Clottey.

He should just weigh in at 142-ish and let his opponents come in however they want. Fuckin' catchweight *****.

This thread really exposes people who don't know much about training and/or cutting weight.

Professional athletes, or anyone who train basically 4+ hours 5-6 days a week, need to eat tons of calories in order to maintain their body weight and/or prevent muscle loss. Google Michael Phelps' diet sometime. The guy consumes 10,000 calories a day when he's in training camp. 7,000 calories isn't to gain weight for his fights, it's to maintain his weight.

Athletes who have to cut weight for whatever reason usually have to skip meals, drink less water in order to make weight. This pretty much describes every boxer out there.

Pacquiao doesn't cut weight anymore, so he doesn't have to skip meals in order to make weight. If he wanted to make 140 or 135, he would have to start cutting meals and dehydrate right before the fight like every boxer does.

And for you keyboard warriors, yes, protein shakes count as a meal.

you heard it from the horses mouth. pacroid is a WW

they need to strip him of his 140title if hes not going to fight at 140. but that would be right up his alley, again

draining himself to fight at the smaller weight class and be the bigger guy. this guy is a sham
That's your second warning. I'm afraid you're gonna have to donate 1k to a Pacquiao fan..

Most boxers don't even eat to make weight. Aside from a carrot and juice.

Pac could still make 35 if he wanted to. He just doesn't have to cuz' he's a God now and God's don't need to skip no damn meals if they don't want to.

I still think 140 is his best weight class, but he is certainly able to compete at 147 and dominate, as we've seen.

Well if he was on a normal boxers diet then he wouldn't be a WW. Come on Larry this is real easy stuff. 99.9% of boxers do not "eat" their way into a division unless they are Chris Arreola or something.

Trying to say that a man who eats more than 3 times the ammount of food required to maintain his body weight is a natural WW is just dilusional. Its reaching for unreasonable nonsense in order to discredit Pac and it's pretty ***ing lame.
