Yeah, when all things are considered, Nard STILL has a big L in his record for this fight. Maybe he pulled a Sturm and did just enough to lose the fight in scandalous fashion.

      JERMAIN TAYLOR
Taylor said exactly the same thing after the Edouard and Joppy fights - that he's still learning each fight, that he has to put these lessons into practice, that he's not satisfied with his performance, etc. Far from showing he's a coward or a wimp, I find his comments to be a refreshing change from the false braggadocio "I'm bad, I'm a bully, I'm beautiful" crap that every fighter seems to spout nowadays.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think Taylor is all that - but don't think he's soft just from his post-fight comments. He's a hard-ass, believe me...

Am I the only fan that wants to see a confident middleweight??

        I hate modesty.

I want a champion who's a little more sure of himself... maybe that'll happen if he beats benard in the second fight... but how "great" is Jermain going to be if he can't stop a 40 year old man? In my opinion Jermain has more to prove in the second fight than Hopkins.

Taylor should just be a prospect - the fact that he just beat the #1 p4p fighter and people won't give him his due is interesting.

After Taylor won every second of the fight vs. Marquez he had the same interview - gave his opponent that he destroyed a lot of credit.

Even if he loses to Hopkins in the rematch and (unlikely) never wins another belt, he's still accomplished something great. It was too early for him to step up, and he still won the fight...

            JERMAIN TAYLOR

maybe, just MAYBE he was unhappy with his performance after rd. 8??? I think some of the 'die hard' nard fans are reading something into nothing and grasping at straws![

No one is short changing him or graspin for straws.

He's not getting his full credit because he was getting his ass stomped out the second half and barley made it to the finish. Its not like he went in there and ran ****.

Taylor did not act as if he won the fight. This comment was made by Max Kellerman, Roy Jones Jr, Emanuel Steward, Bernard Hopkins and Bob Costas.

see, that right there is what I was expecting, instead of everybody yelling "robbery"...and that is that no matter when or how he beats nard, instead of giving the kid just an ounce of credit for doing it, it's all about nard being an "old man". Cant have it both ways, and none of that erases the fact that nobody else can beat that old man now does it??
