Vitali's injury wasnt nearly as severe as Floyd Mayweather who grinded out an entire fight with a broken hand. Vitali got outsmarted by a supermiddleweight, and I think the fact that he couldnt stop a midget, hurt him more than the injury in his shoulder.
Pure bull****. Sam Peter's exact words: "No more, no more." He was being humiliated and beaten like a punching bag and wanted out. Also notice that while he has called for rematches with Wlad, he's been very quiet about wanting to fight Vitali again.

Brewster agreed to quit when asked if he wanted to by Buddy McGirt. But he obviously wanted out.

Vitali was winning the Byrd fight, so obviously the injury was pretty bad. But it's always interesting that there are so few real problems in Vitali's career that this perceived one is always revived by certain people. Since he's never been knocked unconscious by a journeyman like Hasim Rahman or Crackbaby McCall, the Byrd fight is about it, along with a cut inflicted by Lennox Lewis in another fight Vitali was winning.

Yea Vitali has never been behind on scorecards at the end of any fight

I think he was leading Bryd 88-82 on everyscore card into the 9th round, so how the guy claims Byrd outsmarted him is just beyond me

Hatred turns some people into irrational beings. Vitali has proven he's plenty tough and hardly anyone mentions this incident anymore. Except people who are truly desperate for something to distract from the REAL issue of Haye's con-artistry and cowardice.

All we need is for Haye to get in the ring with either Klitschko and we can stop a lot of this circular arguing. If 50-50, no options isn't good enough, what is? 100% to Haye?

Why doesn't Haye think a 50-50 worldwide split with no options on future fights is a great deal to fight a Klitschko brother?

Some things will remain a mystery, I guess.

Well, if he's a cruiserweight he should move back down and fight there.

If he's not, then he has to deal with the heavyweights -- and he has a belt to defend.

The marketing ploy is beginning to backfire, that's the problem for Haye and Booth.

Because he was hurt that Bad.

Why would a fight who trained 2 months, is undefeated, has a title on the line and is dominating the fight just quit if the injury wasnt severe?

They are the same people that bring up Pacs loss to turrocampo or what ever his name is 10 years ago.

Haye has a MORE the fair offer on the line and willingness to fight on his grounds. THere is simply nothing more he can say.

I'm amazed no Haye fan has come onto this thread and said something like:

"This is a brilliant move by David Haye to get into the Klitschkos heads. Haye is a legend. By the time they fight the Klits will be so angry they won't be able to concentrate and get FTFO. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go bash one out to my life size David Haye cut out standee."
