Forrest said he actually didn't mind being the first on the undercard. He said he wants a couple of more tuneups to get the rust off and then he told Merchant he will fight whoever the people want.

I didn't see the PPV (as I lack cable/satellite TV), but you can't judge a fighter's quality when he fights a bum. Wait and see, before you guys jump on a bandwagon.

Uh, too late, I've been on the forrest band wagon for yrs, and will stay there. Yes, the guy he fought was levels beneath him, but he was just shaking off that ring rust. He still looked sharp!

I liked what Forrest had to say after the fight too, he said he'd step it up a bit against his next opponent, then a bit more for the opponent after that, and then he'd fight whoever. He also talked about trying to go back down to 147. I think he'll be a force at either division.

He looked ok, but it was against someone he totally outclassed. But he did what he was expected too and got the guy outta there. Two years is a long time to be off so he needed a fight to get his rust off.

He will be back better than ever i think. At least I hope so. He's one of the really good guys in the sport and there needs to be more like him.

Karma for you, well put Ive been a fan of Forrest and agree that we need fighters like him. He has tons of skill and got a raw deal of a fight (Mayorga 2) that he should have won. After 3 surgeries and 2 years removed from the game I think Vernon will be back strong and come with force. The layoff was the best thing for him, got his mind back on track. He was pretty upset with the outcome of that fight. As he should have been.
