You can't call boxing boring altogether just because you don't get Rocky style fights every time you watch it. But obviously there's fights that suck. It's about your preference in the styles really.

The TS went from a thread where many didn't find a particular Floyd fight to be "exciting", so he may have felt somewhat dismayed at that fact and now put out this thread to state "not being a boxing fan if you find a Floyd fight boring"

At least, that's the way I'm seeing it.

I don't care if I'm labelled a boxing fan or not, I'll watch fighters who entertain me.

You can still fight with brains and entertain. Roy Jones was good at it, Mayweather was good at it...Toney was great. Duran was great, Leonard was great, Ali etc etc etc. The last three especially were all very smart, crafty fighters and yet were three of the biggest fighters ever.

A fighters career is based on two things. Himself and his skill and whether or not anyone gives a **** about him. The second one is most important for if he wants a lucrative career (which is every single fighter in history) and the first is most important to get to the top/titles etc.

Micky Ward never won a title and left the sport much richer than most champions.

but at the same time you cannot expect a fighter to change his style just so he can entertaining you, nobody forces fans to purchase PPV's, people ***** and complain about Mayweather style ALL THE TIME but yet they order every PPV he is in, why is his PPV's doing so well if he is that boring, are people REALLY that desperate to see him lose that they cannot stay away?

in all actuality we are suppose to FIND entertaining out of what they do, is it not selfish for fans to expect certain fighters to change the way the fight and risk losing just so he can be more entertaining? certain fans find certain styles more exciting, Casual Boxing Fans love the unskilled fighters with, no speed, defense, head movement or footwork, who will just stand right in front of his opponent and throw while punches until someone goes down...that sounds like MMA to me, if a KO is the only thing people want to see then go watch the UFC

Co-sign, and there are fighters who entertain more than others hence the preference in different styles that sell out crowds.

I mean, I love Winky Wright but can you really get hyped if he was still at 154 fighting Spinks?

Its funny when people on here hop on their high horse and make this comment.

If you ask me a REAL boxing fan is someone who sees one of those boring ass fights but comes back to watch more.

Dont get me wrong hopkins and floyd are great fighters but their fights are boring as ****.

FIghters can fight as boring as they want, it just means they will have less fans.

boxers can box in a boring style if they want, but they shouldn't complain about the fans if they do

Yeah, that's what I just said in the post mate. I don't care either way. I'll watch whatever and if it's boring I won't watch it again or if it's a new fighter then I may not watch another of their fights.

But, I watch fights for two different reasons. One is to analyse and the other is to be entertained. I can differentiate between watching as a fan and watching as a boxer. I enjoy watching Mayweather on one level but if I feel like being entertained, then I might go watch his early fights at 130/135 etc.

Anyway, who really gives a ****? You're a fan or you aren't. You watch boxing or you don't. You like some fights you don't like others. It sounds to me like the TS is a prissy little ***** who thinks he knows something others don't. Sounds like a classic case of adolescent understanding to me.
