The whole system needs to be blown up, boxing needs a complete year off while a new system is ushered in and properly managed.

Hell, have the commissioner from the NFL come take over...it ain't only the sanctioning bodies that need to be eliminated, but the state commissions, promoters.

Less governing bodies would be more beneficial to the sport of boxing.

For one, it would make it a lot easier for the casual fan to know who THE MAN is in each division, and it would eliminate all the paper and cherry picked champions out there (Zsolt Erdei anyone?).

Two, if there was one governing body, I think that would greatly decrease the amount of robberies and homer decisions we see in boxing today. If there were still blatant robberies and glaring scoring oversights with one gov. body, that org would lose credibility fast and no one would take the sport seriously at all.

And three, as mentioned already, if there could be only one champ/division, it would make boxers fight harder on some king of the mountain type ****. The best would literally have to fight the best.

taking away the many governing bodies would be best.

this would mean that the 140 lbers would actually face each other before being considered the top guy (for example).

it would take away more cherry picking, and paper champs.

less gov. bodies. So that the best will fight the best in each division will likely happen.

Less governing bodies by a light year, these sanctioning orginizations are the reason why so many fights have never came through with their rules that object to what fans really want.
