I'm rewatching the PPV from last night and they raised an interesting point as far as both hurting the sport of boxing. With that said if you could only chose one to get rid of the help boxing move in the right direction, which would it be............one champ per division or 8-10 weight classes with 3 champs (max) per class?
If you could chose 1, which would it be...Less gov. bodies or fewer weight classes?

in my opinion, governing bodies do more damage to the sport than more weight classes.
i'd love to get rid of both but if i had a choice, i'd get rid of governing bodies first. -
Less governing bodies. You don't have to pay attention to a weight class if you don't like it. And I don't believe combining weight classes would create more competition either.Comment

I personally feel one champ per division would eliminate a lot of the b.s. and politics in boxing. There would be no back doors to titles, title fights would mean more, and the eliminators for shots at the champ would be very entertaining bouts.Comment

Yeah imagine how hard boxers would fight to earn a shot at a title.
This would eliminate guys like Povetkin who give up their spots and fighters trying to cherry pick their way to vacant and b.s. belts.Comment

Less governing bodies. I don't mind people fighting at a weight this feel most comfortably at or even moving up to take on some of the best. I do feel more belts dilute who the best at any given weight division is though. Less belts, more comp.Comment

i would be happy if there were just 3 belts instead of 4 or the others that claim to have world champsComment
