First of all Pirog is not european, he comes from eastern russia, which makes him more asian then anything else.

Second of all, Kotelnik, while a good fighter, is really a top european, not world class, and for Alexander to look anything less then stellar against that guy would already be a loss.

From last night's commentary, the russian who was calling the fight said a couple of times that Pirog was coming from Chelyabinsk area, which is north-eastern part of Russia.
