Roy Jones lost too.

It was very clear in Roy Jones' eyes that he was kindda sad when Bernard lost. Do you think it was because they have a planned mega-fight showdown sometime in the future and it was ruined by Hopkins losing to Taylor?

I was thinking maybe Bernard and Roy will have their last professional fight with each other and now it's all messed up.

I just don't know how people can say that Hopkins was planning to lose the first 7-8 rounds and then take out Taylor late. I mean, come on, this is the guy that has turned winning purely on points into an art form! When he KOs/TKOs guys it's only because his dominance overwhelmed them, it's never because he went out looking for the KO win. And especially at his advanced age there's no way he thought he was going to spot Taylor a big lead and then win on power in the end. Come on! Hopkins was dominated up until the end of the fight when Taylor started acting ******, which made it a close contest, but doesn't mean that Hopkins had a gameplan working from the opening bell.

Okay, maybe no more exciting than a normal boxing match, but with the titles on the line, Taylor with a big gash on his head, Hopkins's dirty tactics and Taylor looking to be taken out, this was edge-of-the-seat stuff as far as a Slopkins fight goes.

Agree but...... but I think Hopkins had that same strategy against DLH by letting him win the first couple of rounds.

Good post, I agree with you 100%. I just watched the fight again, in the first 9 rounds Borekins didn't win a round in my eyes, Taylor clearly won 7 of them, the other 2 could've been a draw. We have many blind idiots. You really have to be blind to say that Borekins won the fight.

i loved watching this fight . youre right anorak it had a fantastic atmosphere .

frankly , and i m not kidding , this fight made me re-start smoking after a 2 month lay off .

Taylor threw hundreds of more punches than Hopkins, but Hopkins OUTLANDED Taylor, obviously landed the hardest punches of the fight, and shut Taylor out in the championship rounds.

This is not bout who lands the harder or lands more punches...ITS ABOUT WHO WINS MORE ROUNDS...And that's what Taylor did...

Did you used to say that there was NO WAY that Tito beat DLH cuz he just won the last 4rnds? Why you don't apply that to this fight?

Plus IMO Nady should have taken a few points away from Nard...
