Hopkins lost the first four rounds. He did nothing. Taylor was the only one TRYING to do something, and he was very effective in spurts, whereas Hops was not effective at all.
Hopkins can do all the damage he wants late in the fight, and give Taylor brain damage, but that won't change the scores of the rounds early in the fight.

As for a rematch...how is Hopkins going to emphatically beat Taylor. Hopkins is only going to be older, and Taylor will now have the benefit of a 12 round fight with Bernard Hopkins. Do you think Hopkins will pick up the pace? If he was confident in his old age with his ability to sustain the pace needed to beat a young guy like Taylor decisively, he would have done it tonight, and he didn't.
