If you want to pick Manny, that is fine by me. The main reason I made this thread is I saw a thread where people were saying Manny was greater than Sweet Pea. Manny had a lot more votes than Whitaker which really surprised me. I don't mean to criticize your view and if you think Manny would win, I respect your opinion. But I think this forum tends to overrate Manny and Floyd. In this case, Pac by KO didn't dominate the poll like I thought it would, so I'm glad Whitaker is getting the respect he deserves.

Okay cool bro. I hope you didn't get offended by my comment as I was speaking in general. TBH I see so many threads like this and they all are implying that which is why I made the comment I made. I agree with you though that people do overrate both Manny and Floyd. Also to think Manny KO's him (I didn't see that thread but I'll take your word..lol) is also dumb as hell. I have never seen Pea (prime version) landed on enough to lead to a KO.

Dude Manny is an ATG and one of the best in this era for a reason. People who think he has no chance or in no way would win are really the people who are biased. Now I truly respect Sweat Peas game as a fighter but Manny could beat him. Would he in a fantasy fight...well thats hard to say as both are legends. I don't give Pacquiao anything more then a puncher's chance, and I'm not being biased at all. I see Pacquiao getting beat from any range. People forget how physically strong Pernell was for a little 5'5 1/2 dude. I've seen him wrestle much bigger opposition then Pacquiao' and move them around the ring. He's especially good during the clinches, I've seen no one fuck with him there.

You also have to look at the success Marquez had. What did Marquez failed to do? Marquez didn't clinch once he got off and Marquez didn't have the legs to get out of range, Pernell does all that. Then you also have to factor in that Pernell isn't exactly a clean fighter. I'm sorry man, but I wouldn't give Pacquiao much of a shot and I'm not biased. I'd give Duran, Mosley and Maywearther a much better shot at 135, but in the end my pick is still Pernell Whitaker.
