The damage to Vitali's face was caused by Lewis landing 50% of his power punches. There was nothing lucky about it.

Vitali elected to go punch for punch, and with Lewis being the bigger puncher, he came out on the losing end.

The particular punch that caused the biggest cut was glancing, but that doesn't mean anything. Lewis' punches resulted in Vitali's face looking like cherry pie, and a beaten fighter:


It was a deserving TKO loss in the truest sense.
