Juan Diaz is by no means the same fighter from their first fight anymore. Each time Diaz loses, it takes a little bit out of him. By now he's completely done. Let's show what I mean.
When he lost to Campbell: Campbell showed Diaz's restless style could be stopped after wearing him down with body shots and more importantly cutting him.
In the first Marquez fight: Diaz was just as good as he was in his prime, but once again Diaz got solved by Marquez and then Diaz could not fight with his cuts. Diaz was missing wide in the later rounds.
In the first Malignaggi fight: Diaz showed he was slipping. It wasn't just being at 140 pounds. He was aggressive, but he wasn't all over Paulie like he was Campbell or Marquez. He was looking for more a good combination, rather then just throwing in his normal style.
In the second Malignaggi fight: Diaz wasn't even the same. He was a lot more cautious and looked clueless to what would work. He was more jab oriented, but his jab isn't that good by itself. He looked confused on what to do and it was very evident that he is not the same fighter anymore.
I don't think the Mayweather loss took much out of Marquez, hopefully. It was at a higher weight and I don't think even taking a lot of shots will affect Marquez's countering and combinations.
If Diaz is competitive again, I'll be disappointed.
