If Margarito was black and had above average handspeed,he'd have been touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread.Instead,Margarito worked for everything he got,without being blessed with great physical capabilities.


Margarito came up the hard way.He didn't have time to go play pattycake in the amateurs with all the other future underachievers.



He did everything in his power to fight the recognizable names at 147 and 154 from 2003-2006.Every notable fighter from that time,in those weight classes,wanted absolutely nothing to do with this fearsome Mexican warrior.



The night Margarito beat Cotto into a bloody pulp was one of the greatest nights in the sports recent histoy.It was the night were the hard working,honest pro was finally given his due.All those years taking peanuts while learning his craft in the sport that he loved so dearly had been all worth it for just that one night.

I agree Margarito worked hell of hard in the gym and ate punches just to win fights, yeah he gets complete credit of course. But his career will forever tainted, loved or not. He ****ed up so his sweat and tears have gone to shame.

Why would he want Martinez, ohhh wait he's ducking him. Martinez did stop all his plans just to fight Margarito, and they choose the money over the beatdown, a familiar tactic in 2010.

Why are you under rating Williams? He's been a force to reckon with for along time, he along with Margarito have been the most avoided. Margarito was tailor made for anyone with half a brain that knows how to fight, e.g. Mosley. Although I do agree with his mediocre return to the ring, the extra weight almost makes him fight at a snails pace.

Margarito is still one of the biggest draws out of Mexico, he along with JMM and Alvarez/Chavez Jr.
