Big step back. More and more it is like pro wrestling, where you either fight for this company or that company. It was bad enough with the exclusive network contracts, but the ******ous promotional matchups make it even worse.

Step back. With all the controversy with May vs Pacquiao boxing looks like a soap opera

          2. Its still the middle of the year, so its not too late for surprise fights to come out.
          3. Worse case scenario, as you said Dunn, the events this year would lead up to an incredible 2011, so it would in retrospect mean that 2010 would be a good year for boxing.

Of course, on the flip side, there's always murphy's law...
          Thats why this year ******:

The 2nd biggets fight of the year is manny vs a disgraced former champion who got caught cheating. The 3rd biggest fight was manny vs a punching bag with arms where the marketing strategy wasn't "check out the fighters" it was "check out this new stadium"

Paul Willimas, Sergio Martinez, Bradley, Alexander could have all made fights that would elevate all of them to a higher level. Instead they wait for the fight to get "juicy".

And finally, Berto, maybe the 5th or 6th most well known fighter in the US got a $3 mil payday to step away from the Mosley fight (for floyd) and now he expects king's riches to fight when his last fight had about 4500 people in a 9,00 seat arena.

Yeah, it's been quite a flop. Lots of big names have fought this year, but so far they've all kinda fallen short in terms of excitement...

            Pacquiao-Clottey was boring
            Mayweather-Mosley was boring
            Cotto-Foreman was OK/good
Williams-Cintron was OK/good, but too short
            Martinez-Pavlik was good
            Froch-Kessler was OK/good
            Dirrell-Abrahem was OK/good
Katsidis-Mitchell was good, but too short
Marquez-Vazquez IV was good, but too short
            Bradley-Abregu was boring
            Alexander-Urango was OK/good
            Lopez-Luevano was good
            Gamboa-Mtagwa was too short
Lopez-Concepcion was great, but too short
            Donaire-Marquez was boring/OK
            Margarito-Garcia was ****
            Berto-Quintana was OK
            Adamek-Arreola was good
            Vitali-Sosnowski was OK
            Wladimir-Chambers was boring/OK
            Haye-Ruiz was boring/OK
            Ward-Green was ****
            Khan-Malignaggi was OK/good
Judah-Santa Cruz was OK, but too short

Maybe it'll pick up with this weekend's card, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Not many guys are really going for it in their big fights.
