Who REALLY fights the best? Mayweather or Pacquiao?

I'm always hearing the "Mayweather doesnt fight the best" and "Pacquiao gives the fans the fights they want". I wanted to see what the truth is so I decided to check out their records and look bad at what they have done in different weight classes.

    Mayweather -

130 - He basically cleaned out the division, Beating champions Genaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Gregorio Vargas, Carlos Hernandez and Jesus Chavez. The only top 130lb guy who he didnt beat was Acelino "Popo" Freitas who held the WBO belt, But back then Freitas wasnt well known and boxing is a business. People need to realise that there's no way his people would have wanted to put him in there with Mayweather just as he became champion. And like I said before, He was not popular back then. Corrales was seen as the real test for Mayweather Jr, And we all know what happened there.

135 - Mayweather moved up and immediately fought Castillo twice. The first was controversial but he clearly won the 2nd. The other two names on his LW resume arent impressive but I blame Bob Arum for that. However, Mayweather had already beaten the best Lightweight.

140 - He moved up and beat the official WBC champion Arturo Gatti by brutal 6th round TKO/RTD. And then moved up to 147....

147 - He beat the former Undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah in just his 2nd fight in the weight class. And then dominated the man who had beaten Judah, Carlos Baldomir. Cory Spinks was the undisputed welterweight champion but lost his titles to Judah, Who lost them to Baldomir. Which made Carlos the best fighter at welterweight. Mayweather also has a victory over Shane Mosley who was considered the best Welterweight as he destroyed Antonio Margarito (Who destroyed Miguel Cotto).

154 - Mayweather moved up and immediately fought the #1 ranked 154lb legend Oscar "Golden Boy" De La Hoya by decision to take the WBC belt. Oscar was ranked #1 at 154lbs.

As you can see, Mayweather has always moved up and fought the WBC champion at the official weight class. He has fought beat the best in every division that he has fought in.

Manny Pacquiao on the other hand has not done this. He beat Barrera who was the king at 126 but other than that he has never beat a #1 ranked fighter in a weight class. He wins over Erik Morales mean nothing as Morales was coming off a lopsided loss to Zahir Raheem. Barrera and Morales are the best two fighters on his resume at 130. The other fighters he beat at that weight were Hector Velasquez and Jorge Solis. Neither of which were or have ever been world champions.

He then moved up to Lightweight and fought David Diaz, He didnt fight Juan Diaz. Who was the WBA/WBO Lightweight champ, He didnt fight Casamayor who was the Ring Magazine Lightweight champ. He fought the lightly regarded Diaz. Nobody can argue Diaz was the best Lightweight.

At 140 he beat Hatton, Who to be fair was ranked #1 at the weight but was also coming off a brutal loss to Mayweather Jr. If you look at Pacquiao's resume there is a pattern of him fighting people coming off KO losses.

At 147 he beat De La Hoya, Who has fighting at Welterweight for the first time in about 8 years. He was clearly drained, Meaning the victory has little meaning for Pacquiao. Miguel Cotto is a good fighter but he was coming off a brutal loss to Margarito and as if that wasnt bad enough, Had to defend his title at a catchweight. Cotto was not considered the #1 welterweight as he lost his title to Margarito who then lost to Shane Mosley. This made Mosley the #1 welterweight. Joshua Clottey is a good opponent but he was also coming off a loss and nobody considered him to be the best.

As you can see, Contrary to what some will say, Mayweather fights the best and Pacquiao has a pattern of fighting hand-picked opponents who are coming a knockout losses.

Mayweather has also beaten more world champions than Pacquiao.

Manny has beaten : Sasakul, Ledwaba, Julio, Barrera, Marquez, Morales, Larios, Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto and Clottey. 12 world champions, I know someone will say "Hold on didnt he beat people who won the WBC international belt?" but thats not classed as a world title. And I believe that it should really be 11 since Marquez beat Pacquiao.

Floyd has beaten : G.Hernandez, Gregorio Vargas, Diego Corrales, Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Jose Luis Castillo, DeMarcus Corley, Arturo Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez and Shane Mosley. Count them, Mayweather has between 15 world champions.

Mayweather has always beaten the official champions at the official weight classes and has beaten more of them than Pacquiao has. He didnt fight people coming off a KO losses for vacant belts at catchweights. He went in there and beat the #1 guys for the real belts. Mayweather has fought better opposition, Despite having around 10 less bouts than Pacquiao.

People lie, but numbers don't. 100% facts!

Mayweather's resume at welterweight is a bit thin.

I don't understand why these Pacquiao fans will post all this rubbish about Mayweather being a coward etc etc.

They post all kinds of rubbish but then when someone comes out with some cold, hard FACTS, They have nothing to say.

He beat Shane Mosley who was ranked #1.

I'm not saying Floyd has the best resume ever but it's much better than Pacquiaos. You can only beat the best in your era and PBF has done that, It wasnt his fault that Baldomir was #1. All you can do is win...

            Yeah I suppose.

I guess people are harder on Mayweather because he has such amazing skill.

If it was any other fighter with the same accomplishments people would be jizzing their pants.

Really & truly, all jokes aside"at the lower weights, both fought the best"!!But right now, neither 1 are gonna fight anyone remotely capable of beating them, period!!They are the 2 superstars of boxing & both have the ability to cherrypick exactly who gets to have a big payday against them!!Of course though,it's gonna be someone that can't beat them!!
