If it did happen then i'd give Caballero more chance against Gamboa than i would against Juanma because against Gamboa he has a huge size advantage. I'd still expect Gamboa to win but who knows. I don't see it happening at 50/50 though, Caballero hasn't done anything to get that.

I like Gamboa, but this superstar treatment he gets is ridiculous. He hasn't done **** in the pro ranks and isn't a real WBA world champion.

that matters.
it's like footballers or basketball players who get huge contracts because of their potential before they've even stepped onto the pitch or court yet.
i wouldn't be surprised if arum doesn't make this fight but i can see arum making it as well.
juanma is getting a big name fight in marquez.
if juanma beats marquez , that helps him a lot namewise.
now he can sell lopez-gamboa (and probably dreaming of a trilogy) , to make it bigger gamboa needs at least one big win (gamboa really hasn't beat anyone). caballero could be that one big win for gamboa.

Caballero should just take a decent offer to get in there with these guys and prove his point. No matter how good he is he is not a star in the division. He has to do a Haglar and then the real money is going to start rolling in

That's what's wrong with boxing, paying on "potential" instead of on actual deeds. It isn't right that someone who has cleaned out a division like Caballero should be fighting for chump change.
But Caba's promoter is willing to let Gamboa make more money....there shouldn't be any excuses now. Let's see if Bob "****tuck" Arum will make the fight.
