Bottom line is, fighters who are not at their best point in their careers can still turn it on and upset the perceived fav, provided they are a top line fighter, which Marg has been, hence the reason Mosley was expected to lose but it was not so shocking to see him win.

So, is Marg a "top line fighter" NOW or was he a "top line fighter".
Been away from the thread, my bro came to visit.
Well i dont consider him to be shot, i dont consider him to be old, he has beaten good fighters, so yeah, i would say he is still a top line fighter in the grand scheme of things.

Possibly Pac, Cotto (big if), Mosley (i don't think he could beat him in a rematch, he's just not the same..), Mayweather (wouldn't dare step in the ring with him)... everyone else gets clobbered.
That's still a top line fighter, if he's in the top five, he's still in the mix.

They have weight penalties in place too. But again, we can discuss this over PM.
This is getting sad. Alright, obviously you just wanna do the *******/***** debate, which I repeatedly said we should get away from. I responded specifically to Margarito, I didn't want to get bogged down in this. Like I said, if you'd rather discuss that, PM me. If not, nice talking to you, bud.
It just seems to me that you are looking for things to level at Pac in order to discredit him, i mean, what precisely did Marg do to unimpress you against Garcia, did he get hit too much? he always gets hit, did he dominate the fight, yes!!, i just dont see on what criteria you would categorize it as a poor performance, that is unless you already had preconceived ideas before the fight started that he was shot, and that despite a decent performance, albeit not spectacular, you would rather push what you would like to believe, that he is shot, rather than what he actually delivered in the ring because that is what you were running with before he fought Garcia.
I could understand it if Marg dropped rounds, if he had a good defense and normally did not get hit, or if his balance looked poor, like a Morales vs Raheem, Rahman vs Wlad, that could of suggested he was a shot fighter, however Margarito does not fall into any of those categories imo.
This on top of everything else you level at him, which just happens to coincide with what sticks up for Floyd Mayweather leaves me with questions.
