pacquiao is suppose to be faster at the lighter weights and it is obvious pacquiao hits harder. the thing about pacquiao's recent opponents is that we haven't been able to get a decent feeling of how much speed he's lost by moving up in weight because he's fighting fighters like david diaz, hatton, cotto (who was terribly out-classed in speed by judah), de la hoya and margarito. not a fighter that thrives on speed among them.
I wouldn't say floyd jr would beat jmm at any weight. What about 135? or 130? I can't say jmm would beat floyd jr either, but at those weights, the fight would have at least been more competitive.

regarding pac's speed, i can't disagree with you there.

I think it looks good for Pac.

Marquez nearly threw as many punches as Floyd at 43 per round. Floyd does 40 per round which is only 3 less.

pac was quicker than Floyd when Marquez fought them. pac was at 130 closer to his natural weight, but all of Floyd's extra muscle at 147 cuts his speed a bit. Floyd was older than manny during the times they fought Marquez, 32 vs 29/25.

It's common knowledge that pac packs more power in his punches. It's apart of his explosive style. Floyd is very wise at protecting his hands, so he doesn't sit down on his punches as much.

Floyd's style is definitely more difficult to deal with. He studies his opponents well before taking away their best weapons, and he's much harder to hit. If any punch gets Floyd's attention enough best believe it'll be gone soon. At least with manny dapidran opponents are free to fight back, but it's not the same case with Floyd. A soldier without his gun can't go into battle.

Anyways, Floyd will easily force manny into a slow fight, neutralizing his speed and power. Floyd's excellent jabbing, timing, counters, and footwork will slow manny down.

manny is a great fighter, but he's very distance sensitive. He does his best work at mid range. Floyd is going to place his body and feet at the magical angles that leave manny extra vulnerable to counters when he decides to throw. manny is going to be forced to go off balance by lunging in just to try to hit Floyd. He's not going to be able to hit hard because he isn't in a position to generate the proper leverage for power. manny will get caught in the middle of trying to get his 1st or 2nd shot off, and we won't be seeing any usual amazing 4-5 punch combos.

Great points. Funny JMM says that floyd is the better boxer but Rosenthal somehow spins it in the complete opposite direction.
