    Best Southpaw Jab Ever

I can't pick this one. Whitaker had a great jab. So did Wright and Hagler. Moorer's wasn't shabby at all either.

Hagler's was very good and very hard, but, I think Wright had the most educated jab. He won fights and made a whole brilliant career off of that one punch and it's massive variety of uses.

He used it as a range finder, a power punch, hooked off it, used it for combo's, doubled/tripled, for defense and offense....everything it can be used for, Wright did it. Great jab.

      Wait a minute! I forgot!

Pac has the best jab ever! I figured he needed to be mentioned in every post and saying he's the GOAT somewhere in each post, so there you go. Pac=GOAT and GOAT lefty jab.

if u just look at the jab itself, its probably hagler or moorer. but if u look at how its used and how effective it is as an overall weapon, to me its winky wright. this guy shut down great fighters with basicly his jab alone. tarver deserves to be mentioned too, very long and powerful jab used very well both to control distance and set up the straight left.

Winky Wright had an excellent jab. Alot of people have a "good jab" like Oscar De La Hoya but I dont think that compares with Wright's. He won several fights off his jab alone, And it takes great fighters to do that.

I know this is off-topic, but I had to share this:

A ******* once told me that Pac would be too much for Hagler. According to this genius, Pac hit too hard and would have knocked out the man with perhaps the best chin in Middleweight history.

How do you respond to that when you finish laughing?

                As for best southpaw jab:

Wright's jab is very strong, but Hagler's jab was surgical (Sibson, Briscoe fights) before he abandoned it later on in his career.

Yup,the Winky jab can easily be the best 1 ever!!Probably because it was his main offensive weapon!!It breaks my heart to know that as good as Winky was,the average boxing fan will probably have no idea who he was,or how good he was!!For example down in the fantasy fight forum,Winky vs SRL-almost everyone picked Sugar Ray easily, but in no way was that accurate, the Winky jab & great defense would have nullified the SRL offense, added that SRL couldn't hurt him would have made that fight so very close,SRL's name alone is what gives him an edge, nothing else because Winky, his jab & defense truly was that good!!

Yeah winky would have given anyone in history a good fight at 154-160, anybody. He dont have the name or fame that the other guys have but true boxing fans know he would be competitive with all the ATG's in his division.

I used to see him as a kid before I followed boxing, running and training at the park. I think he had his first title at about that time and I didnt know any better I just thought he was an amateur local fighter because he was down to earth and talked to all the kids. It blows my mind thinking about it that he is like a shoe in for the top 3 ATG at 154 in history and hes from my hometown.

I was shocked when I saw him on HBO against Vargas, I had just started watching boxing and I was blown away that guy from the park was on HBO fighting for a title. He had nice cars but I never put it together that he was at the world level because he was down to earth.
