I think they set some parameters but Arum using those to throw a deal out there that is good for his side and saying done deal well~

Both sides are doing the same thing though so not like you can be mad at one side and not the other, that is the only thing that doesn't amake sence to me.
They could have easily called any media and cried wolf at any point during a 3wk stretch between the "we got a deal" to the deadline. Even GBP stayed quiet, now, they can't seem to keep quiet. Lolz.

    My take on this.
There were indeed talks. They got an agreement between Haymon, GBP, and Arum. They sent it to Ellerbe, Ellerbe sent it to Floyd, Floyd himself was not interested. Whatever his reasons (vacation, hate for Arum), he did not give a go. GBP and Ellerbe did not make any fuss because they were hoping Floyd would agree because of the $$$. They waited until Floyd himself was quoted that he was not interested. Then comes the "no nego" stories. Wild spin... possibly. No worries, I just want to see them fight even with different opponent. Just hoping they could get in the ring together.

Anyhow, I always respect your views Gamb because unlike some on here you at least give out your reasons in a nice way, and don't mask your opinions as truths.

Floyd apologist like you can spin this thing anyway you want it, Ellerbe just confirmed that FLoYd is not interested in boxing right now. it Reminds me when Margarito called him out and Boxing fans want to see him fight then undefeated Cotto. Now Floyd once again Mayweathered Pacquiao. no wonder ESPN called him a COWARD.

arum and floyd can't see eye to eye. Floyd parted ways with him. They hate each other. What more proof do you want that a middle man is needed for a negotiations.

Hence, Greenburg is the guy who had to do the backdoor deals.. Geez that's how negotiations work if you want to make a fight to happen. You go to back channels to get your message across.

And Ross tried to deliver the message..

            And you what's the answer?

Floyd: I'm going to have a vacation. ( Don't want to lose my 0 this year)
They would still need to work things out much more closely than what actually went down. Ross can talk to both Haymon and Arum but he can't force them to truly deal with each other, Ross wanted the fight to happean and did what he could but both sides let him down.

They could agree in principle like that but still there would have to be a ton of lawyers hammer out the final deal, that kind of thing never took place so I can't say they truly negotiated.

If FLoyd wanted to "sit down" beleive me he would have. He says he promotes himself so he should have answered his phone for 2 months
              I dont get your point.

It is public knowledge that Floyd is not fighting in the immediate future.

Team Mayweather have been publicly stating that since May 10th.

Maybe the issues that Bob Arum alluded to could be the reason why? Maybe they want to get this **** with Roger out of the way before they look forward?

Who knows? And who really cares?

Mayweather was ready to go back in January, all Manny had to do was agree to the same terms that he so desperately wants now (50/50 and a 14-day cutoff) and we would have seen that fight already.

                Numbers don't lie, people do

Now that Ross Greenburg broke his silence and telling the world that there was talk conducted for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, what more lies can the Mayweather camp produce. Remember the Mayweather's favorite songs "NUMBERS DON'T LIE, PEOPLE DO" and "INCHES AND TIMING".

In your mind.. Greenburg is a liar and a scum of the earth for saying there was negotiations right? When infact there wasn't any right? As you said to me,"Here is some advice, keep it simple ******. Don't try and sound smart" I think your addressing it to yourself lol.. You dimwit **** hehe!

In your way of thinking: Greenburg is a liar, Ellerbe is talking real, Senior makes sense, Floyd never lies..

Greenburg is the liar for real bro.. Am I right?

Oh wait you can't answer it yet, your **** riding Floyd again lol

They talked for sure but I think Arum just kind of stopped dealing after a certain point and made a decent offer, Floyd probably wanted and offer that blew his socks off to fight and that wasn't the offer they got and Arum just left it at that. I think things got started but I don't really think they got much beyond that for whatever reason, and I think both sides were fine with what happeaned.

Now both sides are playing the spin game, I just don't think Greenburgs statement is as black and white as most are making but certainly understand why those arguements are made.

I didn't say anything like that, Greenburg was the one out of the bunch who truly wanted to make the fight. He should be comended and I actually think he does a decent job with boxing for HBO.

I just don't think his statement is as most here are representing it
