Yeah, most don't see the logic in fighting Cotto. Unless Cotto defends his Jr middle title a couple of times and dominates his opponents (non-tomato cans) in awe inspiring fashion, it makes no sense.

Just based on his performances against Margo and Pacquiao, not very many hold out much hope that he can crack top 10 P4P rankings much less the top 5.

Cotto is a dead man walking when talking about a potential fight with Floyd Mayweather.. Seriously, I am really oppose to this fight. There is no argument I will accept or want to hear as to why this fight should happen.

My answer is "NO"

I have been reading a few articles and a few threads trying to hype this bout up...and I genuinely feel and think this match up to be completely absurd..!

No Real Mayweather fan "IMO" should want this fight.
With Mayweather fighting in his last days of his career, I do not want to see him fight the likes of Miguel Cotto when he should be focusing on trying to make a Manny Pacquiao fight happen.
The only top rank fighter I want to see Mayweather fight is Manny Pacquiao.. the rest of those guys is worthless when talking about a potential match-up with Mayweather,

FIGHT Manny Pacquiao or Leave Top Rank alone is my belief, there is no other reason to deal with Bob Arum unless it has to do with Pacquiao.
Win or Lose on November 13th. I want to see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

Manny didn't take the tests so they wont fight but that doesn't mean Cotto wont, maybe it would be an easier negotiation and trust me when I tell you Cotto would come to fight and he's not full of **** he will take that test. Here's what ****s me up tho, Manny is about to fight a guy who got knocked out by the guy Floyd just beat so why can't Floyd fight a guy who got TKO'ed by the guy Manny is about to beat? there's always a double standard when it comes to Floyd Mayweather Jr even from some of his most loyal fans (ahem, Horus..)

he didn't fight Manny because he refused to take Olympic style random blood testing leading up to the day of the fight, Floyd was clear when he told Manny the good money split and the 14 day cutoff was only on the table for the May 1st date, he let it be known that he would no longer offer a 14 day cutoff period if he had to fight Mosley on May 1st and would want more money if his PPV sold more and Manny Pacquiao and co. said NO to that until AFTER the Mosley fight knowing that it would be off the table by then, this isn't a more brought up point amongst analysts because nowadays everybody is kissing Manny's ass but some people still aren't..

Mayweather VS Cotto is a great set up for Mayweather VS Pacquiao, they would both be fight 2 of each of their past opponents, they will have both fought Hatton, Oscar and Cotto THOROUGHLY eliminating anyone else who was in the bigger picture and they would both be 154 pound champions, Mayweather would be able to take more time off before he signs a contract and fight when he's ready and overall it would be a good look, I seriously don't see the problem there Horus..
