Only problem I have with the catchweight is the belt being on the line.

there is no "huge" size advantage. if manny wants to claim hes a WW and fight there, he needs to fight at the limits.

were you saying this when floyd was fighting guys with a huge weight advantage? i bet you werent.

manny is a WW, so he needs to man up and fight like one

I just want to see an actual competitive fight for Manny, hasn't been one since Marquez II.
      it depends

the one thing you cannot take away is the fact that Tony has been in war after war and at some point it has to take a toll on his body.

if he has one more fight left in him then he gives Manny some issues but I am concerned he doesn't.

one last thing about that week

after the weigh in when he walked in from yogurt it was me, his comanager, and a few friends hanging out at the bar. He walks in, takes a few pics, then says he is headed to his room for some rest. While waiting for the elevator he sits on a bench with his driver. The way he looked (slumped and dead tired) was really telling to me I even told his manager that he looked tired

This is why they should bring back same day weigh-ins. Fighters will be lest reluctant to starve/dehydrate themselves.

the ones saying Margarito has the upper hand dont know crap about boxing . Margarito has stated he was having trouble makeing 147 now having said that most of Margarito training is going to be base around makeing weight which will result in him being less than 100%. Margarito just came back and he looked big its not going to be easy. i know first hand how it is to make weight and it does take something out of you. if the catchweight didnt matter they wouldnt be asking for it
Pac on the other hand is going to be 100% FACT
and for the guys thinking that this fight is going to be easy for Pac are morons Margarito throws alot of punches if he has anything in tank Pac is in big trouble. Pac will be there to get hit fact

They're asking for a catchweight that way Marg isnt 160+ come fight night. Pac will be no more than 146-149 come fight night, and its already bad enough that Marg has a tremendous height and reach advantage.

You seem to struggle with the basic principles in moving up in weight

So if a boxer has a certain advantage over a boxer they are allowed to request what might affect the boxer with the advantage?

So if Amir Khan fights a big power puncher & with his jaw, is it reasonable to ask for the big power puncher to wear 14oz boxing gloves & not the 8oz power puncher gloves?

I thought the point of going up in weight is to take the challenge of having disadvantages against you, not trying to minimal the danger much as you can.

If you have many disadvantages against you in a certain weight class......DON'T FIGHT IN IT!! Simple as that, rather then make demands that will less the danger & at the end of it look pretty on his record.

The problem isnt Pac, Margarito, or catchweights. The problem is the sport of boxing itself and the sanctioning bodies. Day before way-in's are allowing boxers to cheat their weightclasses.
