If Pacquiao can come in on fight night at 146lb's in 2007 (Against David Diaz), i don't think 3 years later 150lb's on fight night will be a problem. Going down in weight is harder obviously.

at the weigh when his weight was announced the entire team looked shocked because they thought he would be on or a little over.

Marg has been coming down in weight his entire career to make 147. What's the difference now?

It showed during the Mosley fight, IMO. That's why I disagree with the People who say Marg will not be a threat to Manny. Manny has his specific advantages.. speed & footwork.. but Margs power, size, stamina, workrate will will be hell for Manny. I just want to see an actual competitive fight for Manny, hasn't been one since Marquez II.

Your body changes, why didn't Margarito opt to fight @ 147 for his comeback fight? He wanted to fight at a weight that was comfortable to him, he weighed in @ 153lb's & he didn't even look impressive against a lesser opponent compared to Pacquiao. Yeah going down 3lb's isn't much but if that's the case why is 3lb's extra such a difference.

Team Pacquiao have just made a new sub-division weight class for Jr. Middleweight which isn't cool at all.

he had no trouble actually making 147 for Mosley

                but what happened was

they were using some cheap store bought scale to weigh Tony at the hotel so they could gauge how much weight he needed to lose. That scale showed him heavy so Thursday he spent all day in the sauna and on the stationary bike in order to be on weight for Friday's weigh in

well that scale was totally wrong and when he went up to the official scale he not only was under but was under by over pound. THAT drained him. After the weigh in we all hung out at the fight hotel and we saw Tony come in from getting frozen yogurt. He looked bad I have pics I took with him and it looked nothing like how Tony normally looks after weigh in. Also, after a weigh in Tony literally gorges on pastas and meats but his driver told me that all he had after his weigh was half of his pasta.

Mosley was the better man that night and a perfect foil for Tony to look bad against and IMO no matter version of Tony would have been in there he probably would have lost but the above is the real truth of what happened with his weight
I always respect your posts but I can't buy this. I'm sure you are right, but I think marg was just shook that he finally got caught. Against Shane he lacked 3 things that illegally plastered hands surely give you, confidence, courage and power. Besides, illegal wrapping was prob not a last minute decision made after struggling with the weight.

Again, I'm sure your story is valid and I will always respect your points but I can't disagree more. he fought like a man who had just disgraced himself, his family, fans , and the sport.

People are getting too wound up over the catchweight business and forgetting that Margarito has a huge size advantage. Pac is fighting at his 4th different weight in 2 years....which is unheard of.

Only problem I have with the catchweight is the belt being on the line.

**** the belt, in general. they dont deserve to fight for a 154 title.
