I didn't realize Berto had so many fans here. I always thought he was kinda lackluster.

if i was cotto i would have done the same thing..last 5 fights have been crazy 2 take a fight with andre right now.i give cotto his props he deserves a lil break not to mention he fought a guy with loaded gloves for 11 rounds n won 7..not to mention 2 go 12 rounds with someone who does nothing but headbutts n keeps his hands up 2 let you 2 tire yourself out.cotto do ur thing gain your confidence n make a real mega fight between 2 fighters in there "original weight class"..Cotto,mayweather..of course may would win im just saying..lol.. if mayweather made marquez look like a boring fight imagine against pac that leaves his face open.cotto/may=GREAT FIGht

I thought the were talking about Vanes-Dzinziruk. I want that to happen so Sergei can get some American exposure.

For those bashing Cotto for not fighting Berto...ever heard of a tune-up fight?? Something that Cotto hasn't had in a long time...out of his last 5 fights, there was only one tune-up fight (against Jennings), and for those thinking Foreman wasn't a dangerous opponent, let's not forget all those who claimed he was the wrong opponent for Cotto since he'd been in a war previously and it was his first at 154.

Berto would pose a challenge for Cotto, but not a threat. The only challenge I see in that fight is Cotto taking more shots than he needs, and that in turn wouldn't fully prepare him for Pacquiao.

The dude fought a plaster-assisted Margarito when no other welter would (besides PWill). Why would he fear a guy who struggled against Collazo, and took 8 rounds to put away Quintana who quit against Cotto before the 6th? The fact is that Cotto needs a warm up fight right now to prepare for Pacquiao, and beating Berto wouldn't accomplish that..

I say Vanes and Berto are both very winnable fights for Cotto. So I can't accuse Cotto of ducking Berto, but I do think Cotto aint trying to see Angulo. I've said that over and over again. And this may force Berto to face Mike Jones, I hope. I'm actually happy Cotto is doing what he's doing, because you know Berto is trying to capitalize on the fact Cotto may be a damaged fighter.

Berto would right uppercut the ricans face into retirement.

People keep sleeping on berto yet nobody wants to fight him. Mosely stepped down, now cotto.

Why does Berto hug so much?

I mean it looks like he's got some speed and some skill, but I wish that mofo would stop the hugging.

Did that Cosme Rivera knockdown get to him so much he has to cut the distance and hug the opponent?

I swear he does it every goddamned fight.

I always thought Berto could be electric with his gifts, but he is just a big hugging guy in the vein of Zaheer Raheem.
