Catchweights in title fights are nothing new. Ray Leonard did it, Meldrick Taylor, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya as well.

I prefer title fights to be at the weight limit though. I think it dilutes the significance of the title to an extent when the weight limit is changed for a single fight.

Sizewise Margarito still has an advantage at 150 or 147. 154 is overwhelmingly in Margs favor.
Just because Pac is good doesn't mean you put him at a great disadvantage against lesser opponents.
I'm also not in favor is the Margarito fight. I'd push for Williams, but he ain't signed with the greedy Top Rank promoter.

Ray Leonard is a Legend but Leonard had everything HANDED to him as well including a few big wins mostly because he was a "Gold Medal Winner" and a Media Darling

I was never a fan or Ray Leonard, I was much more of a Hagler fan because Hagler earned his respect IN THE RING and took on ALL COMERS, to Leonard's credit though he did fight Hagler at 160

it is not a coincidence that Bob Arum was Ray Leonard Promoter also lol

it is crazy to me how people will go out of their way to find what ever reason to defend their favorite fighter, guys was probably google searching for HOURS trying to find fights from the past that was fought at a catchweight lol

Give me a break with this Pacquiao nonsense, the guy is a midget and just be glad he's willing to fight the big guys in the first place.

Realistically, Pacquiao vs Cotto and Clottey never should have happened.

SRL-Lalonde is common knowledge at boxing boards. A fight with two titles up for grab
