floyd fought 2 eliminators just to get a fight with gatti. yep gatti. don't believe that ***** garbage about him calling out tszyu or tszyu ducking him. if floyd wanted tszyu the fight would have been made. instead floyd waited for him to lose just like he did with cotto and is currently doing with pac.

Not that simple Tszyu was on Showtime and Floyd was on HBO, they werent big enough names at that point to make it worth their while to team up and make that happean. Not to mention all of Tszyu's injury woes, mandatory concerns (Mitchell) and then unexpected lost to Hatton to never fight again.

Gatti was an HBO guy and there wasn't much of a window for the Tszyu fight~

I see people post floyd never fought a prime great fighter and when i ask them to list what truely great fighters that floyd didnt fight they never answer the question..so can someone list them

The boxing fans wanted to see Mayweather vs Gatti. A lot of people even said Gatti was too big and questioned if Mayweather can take Gatti's punches. These threads are long gone now but I do have them bookmarked for when I see posts like these trying to belittle Mayweather's win over Gatti.

Gatti didn't even start as Junior Welter, and even Max Kellerman before the fight that it was one of the most lopsided PPV events ever, i remember those were his own words. I didn't belittle his win, FLoyd himself belittle the win. He said Gatti " had 6 losses, no skills, and was a paper champ.

Those who talked about size were ******, as Gatti is actually smaller than Floyd and started his career in a lower weight class than Floyd. If you say that Floyd started as a SFW than what does that make him fight a guy who started as a peso pluma or Featherweight?

It means nothing, he didnt fight them and fought guys like Gatti and Sosa instead. He also said Pacquiao just needed to contact him to fight him- he said that to sky sports and said it would be an easy fight. Look at how the 2 negotiations went? He couldnt sign an easy fight for 50 million.

People also really didn't bring up size when saying Gatti had a chance, they said Gatti had the power to hurt Floyd and if he can make it a war Floyd is in for a rough fight.

That is how I remember it anyways.
