again, as the recent post have stated, this fight couldve easily been made at 147 no catchweight...with no title on the line. but being that margarito for some reason is ranked #1 contender for the wbc jr middleweight ranking and the fact that the wbc belt is unoccupied...as well as more money to made fighting for the jr middleweight wbc belt than it would be if fighting at 147...its all boxing politics/$$$.

and ppl wonder why no1 has interest in boxing. we, as hardcore fans dnt even wanna see this and the other bull**** being thrown in out faces this year, so why the **** would a casual fan wanna see this nonsense??? all the casual fans i kno ask me about what fights they should watch. why would i, in my right mind, cosign a fight like this? it is an embarrassment to boxing. for this manny shoulda done what floyd did and take some time off. a shame...

Obviously Margarito isn't going to have an issue with the catch weight. After getting caught with the Illegal straps he could've only dreamt of a pay day like this, he's got no choice to agree with anything Team Pacquiao says. He's in no position to compromise because of his past stunts, he's simply a puppet when it comes to the negotiations.

It's becoming irritating to me. Not just this, but many of the situation right now. And the only answer people can give is that "boxing is a business." SMH

Since 2004 when he fought and lost by TD to Daniel Santos, Tony had not weighed more than 147 pounds in a fight except his last (vs. Roberto Garcia). Since that fight against Santos, Margarito went back down to Welterweight and very often weighed less than his opponent (146.25 vs. Golden Johnson's 147, a bit more than 145 vs. Shane Mosley's 147, 146 vs. Angel Gomez's 147, etc).

It seems to me that historically, Tony had no weight issues riding the LightMiddle-Welterweight escalator. I dunno if the long suspension can result in his having weight issues. But, at only 32 years old, he should be able to do what he handily did up to more than a year ago. Besides, coming down from 154 to 150 is not like going all the way back down to 147, a weight reduction that Tony did in just three months after the Santos fight when he took on and stopped Sebastian Andres Lujan in a WBO World Welterweight title tiff.

I hate to **** of Manny Pacquiao but he is seriously cherry picking titles. I don't care what anybody says but if Manny wins he is not a 8 time champion. He's fighting for a paper title that neither fighter deserve at a catch weight.

Of course not. This is his promised fight from Arum. He'll do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING Manny demands of him.

Pac won't agree to random drug testing, but in two different fights, he demands that his opponents meet him at a catchweight to fight for a world title. Yet, the idiots on this site criticize Mayweather for making outrageous demands and acting like a Diva. What a crock of ****!
