some of you people sound so ignorant ... this meeting is not about a fight the article claerly states that... however it doesnt mean they arent talking about matching mayweather and cotto up in the future, i beleive cotto will fight berto next and if he wins impressively then mayweather vs cotto will be made, cotto isnt a chicken **** fighter thats scared to take random bloodtests but if mayweather and cotto do fight, though i like cotto as a boxer it will be another shut out performance by floyd... and dont get it twisted, floyd would have shut cotto out if the two would have fought before cotto got the brick hand beatdown from margarito.

I think this will be an awesome fight, Floyd Mayweather Jr VS Miguel Cotto @ 154 would be great, it would be a fight amongst 2 elite top class fighters who are in the same realm and within each others fighting grasp but haven't gotten the chance to go at it. Floyd always DID say Miguel needs to become his own man, CO promoting with Golden Boy with Cotto Promotions as his main foundation will be exactly that, I seriously hope Miguel separates himself from Top Rank who brought him up just to bring him down, Bob Scrotum is no good for Boxing just like all promoters..

what I also don't get is why is it okay for Pacquiao to face Marquez and Cotto and it's not okay for Floyd? no problem with Pacquiao facing Hatton and he was praised for Oscar but Floyd whom started his career at 130 is wrong for it? seriously people suck so much **** it's awful

ok to face marquez now? says who? the consensus is marquez would get killed & there's no need to fight. pacquiao was praised for fighting hatton & oscar because he went up in weight. before pac took on david diaz, nobody in their right mind would have thought pac could take on ricky & oscar. pac was a career 130 & under fighter his whole career. he had one fight at 135 vs diaz then went up basically 3 divisions to fight oscar.

everybody labeled the fight a mismatch. until the bell ring.

floyd's been at welter since 2005. he started pro at 130. pac started pro at 106. was fighting at 130 in 2008.

that's the difference between the two.

*****s are ridiculous. All they say is Floyd would have killed Cotto if they would have met in the past before Cotto lost to the brick cheater, Floyd would have done this and that, but Floyd avoided Cotto by retiring at that time. When *****s talk about their hero it's all about Floyd will do this and that, Floyd would have done this and that, it's all talk about what would have been or what will happen. Nothing about what he did, because there is nothing to say in that category. He just avoided every single great fighter who was at his best and chose to keep his undefeated record by fighting guys like Baldomir, old lightweight Marquez, old Mosley, past his prime De La Hoya, way past his prime Gatti and the list can continue. He retired to avoid the heat of the welterweight division and now the only fight he wants is the Pacquiao one because he is a smaller man and Floyd can take advantage of his size. But he is scared that the smaller Pac might be too tough so he takes his time with that. He should fight Martinez, Cotto or Williams but he won't do that, he will wait to see what Pac is all about and fight him and retire or just retire without fighting him if in the next fight Pac proves to be the monster he was in the last 2 years (using steroids or not).
