Comments Thread For: Team Cotto Schedule Meeting With Mayweather in PR

I admit I skipped about 10 pages of this thread so sorry if this has been said before. I can't fully see how Mayweather-Cotto could be made much easier than Mayweather-Pac because Arum is still involved. Sure Cotto would agree to any demands Floyd has, but the hatred between Floyd and Bob goes awful deep. But maybe it happens, if Cotto says to Bob "Get me this fight and no funny business" we might see it.
Let's call a spade a spade: It would be low for Floyd to make this fight particularly after this whole Manny mess, but I can understand financially why he would do it. He fights the other guy discussed for Pac around the same time as Pac fights Margarito. We see head-to-head who gets more PPV buys (and if Floyd-Cotto sells more than Pac-Cotto), and if Floyd comes out ahead he finds himself right back in the drivers seat to not have to budge when it comes to Pac. Then both men presumably are titleists at 154 which means Floyd can say the fight should be at 154 which is DEFINITELY an advantage to him. This gives us one more reason to want the fight, we can see unification (and maybe a diamond belt), the fight sells huge.
De****able on all fronts, but it makes $$. Floyd has proven that's all he really cares about. Why should we expect anything else?Last edited by Random1; 07-24-2010, 08:50 AM.

I have a great feeling the knicks will rock the balance of power next year. I can see it coming.
