Antonio Margarito ticks all of the boxes for a fight with Pacquiao...
1. He's promoted by Top Rank
2. He's coming off a brutal knockout loss
3. He won't ask for much money because he's just happy to still be boxing. Something that SHOULD NOT be allowed after he loaded his gloves.
4. He won't request random OSDT
5. He is more than happy to drain his body and fight at a catchweight, For the oppurtunity to fight Pacquiao and get a good payday.
I believe that Team Pacquiao never had a real interest in fighting Mayweather Jr. They were constantly negotiating through the media to make Floyd look bad but Arum always refused to give the details of what Floyd was offered. Meaning that he was offered a bad deal because if Floyd was REALLY offered a 55-45 split with testing all the way up until the fight and rejected it then Arum would have came out and blasted him.
One thing we do know for sure if that in 2009, Pacquiao was offered a 50-50 split with a 14 day cutoff and rejected it. And now he's asking for the same deal and claiming Floyd is ducking him. If he really wanted Floyd (Who's last PPV did twice as much as his) then he would just say "Whatever, Let's just make the fight". But he didnt, Which is why I dont believe he wanted the fight. Mosley just said "Fine, You get more money and i'll take whatever test you want", This was because he wanted the fight and bad.
Margarito was always the #1 option for Pacquiao's next fight.
