Comments Thread For: Berto vs Mosley Was Being Pushed By HBO, Says DiBella

According to promoter Lou DiBella, HBO was pushing very hard for Andre Berto to defend his WBC welterweight title against ex-champion Shane Mosley. DiBella discussed the fight with Mosley's promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, but a dispute over purse caused the bout to fall through. Mosley was set to challenge Berto in January of this year. Berto withdrew to assist family members who affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Mosley would later sign a contract to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May.

I'd love Berto - Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Bradley, hell even Clottey, or a rematch with Collazo.

Berto-Cotto, Berto-Mosley and Berto-Marg are the major ones for me.

      Berto-Cotto would be sick.

Agreed, I think Berto beats him.

        Can you say, uppercut?

Berto has not earned 50/50 split with sugar shane if thats
the breaking point. A chance to win against a atg has a value
that is much greater that a couple more dollars today.a rematch
with collozo also would show that he is a class act.the way you
can tell if a fighter is for real is to look at who he shows respect to.

              They beat each other's ass.

Most people like to forget the last round of that fight, where Collazo was doing nothing but getting beat in the face. 30 more seconds he would of been stopped.

I think its a even fight.

I'm not sold on Berto's chin.

He got rattled by Collazo and got dropped by Cosma Rivera.

They also talk about him being dropped in the amateurs often.

                So that's a ? for me.

And he can't fight like he did against Urango.

That clinch pot shot type offense aint gonna cut it against Cotto.

That uppercut will ruin Cotto's world if he aint careful.

                Very even fight for me.

And Collazo was throwing a lot of arm punches late in the fight.

A lot shoe shine crap that wasn't doing anything.

LOL at Berto trying to "unify" with paper champions out of Europe. What a fraud.
