The question is moot because headgear doesn't prevent concussions and therefore is not an effective safeguard against brain damage or death. A concussion occurs when your head is jarred back from the force of a blow, causing your brain to shift within your skull. Repeated concussions are what cause brain damage and most deaths in boxing.

A layer of padding around your head and chin does not protect your head from being snapped back; it just shields you from getting cut.

If you wanted to really cut down on brain damage and death in boxing, you'd need to completeley illegalize headshots.

i dont think i would watch, there is always a risk associated with boxing and thats why people get paid as much as they do, if not more people would do it.

i can think of many fights where the outcome may have been different if they wore headgear.

hell yes i'd watch pro's fight if they wore headgear.

I'd still watch it because I like the movement, It's like watching poetry... LOL!...

But I like to be able to see the expressions on fighters faces, You can see more easily when someone's getting the better of their opponent. (Like when a fighter doesn't wanna be in there).

                    Head guards take that away.
