**** Boxing is not Popular in the Philippines ****

basketball is the number 1 sport in the Philippines. billiards coming second. however, boxing has a very special place in the hearts of Filipinos.

Our biggest achievement in the olympics was winning 2 silver medals both by boxers.Filipinos used love watching heavyweight bouts but not anymore.

Also before Pac, Filipinos were praising Luisito Espino. He was my first boxing hero. Boxing not really very popular but I can say it is more popular now than before because of Pac.

This is not an insult, so please don't take it that way:

Filipinos are small people, how come you don't see more Filipino jockeys?

The spanish culture would influence more of a horse-culture. Surprised not to see more jockeys like out of Mexico.

For a sport not so popular. The P.I. has sure left its mark having 5-6 world champions once at the same time in the last 3 years and aside from having the best # for # they have 2 in most # for # lists and 3 champs right now.
