Is Detroit more violent and worn down than Philadelphia?

Ive noticed that pretty much most cities are kinda the same, there are gonna be bad areas, mostly closer to downtown and the better areas are on the outsskirts, at least seems that way.

I'd say it's comparable... I'd rather be in Philly personally.

                  Cool.

There making Detroit sound like a third world country or something.

If its comparable to Philly then its no problemo.

I saw a hispanic looking kid eating out of a garbage can there, and too many fiends in close proximity, and a group of kids under 10 out at 3 am.

It different though. Philly has great places, decent places, and terrible places. Detroit has decent places, and terrible places, nothing great.
