When Ahmet Öner heard that Juan Carlos Gomez decided to leave Arena-Box to go back to his “old” promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl (Universum), he couldn’t bite his tongue.

“My first thoughts,” Öner commented, “were, ‘Well, that’s a match made in heaven – a formerly great promoter who lost all his TV deals and fired his whole staff to avoid bankruptcy teams up with a formerly great fighter whose biggest success was getting beaten up by Vitali Klitschko and who blew about 2 million Euros in the last three years alone.

“The best thing about it is that Gomez and Universum have been suing each other for the last five years. But all of a sudden, they’re best friends again just because they both decided that they hate the Turkish kid. Well done, guys.

Oner is more a criminal than Gomez, Braehmer, Tajbert. He even left Germany recently because he was scared to go to jail.
Also Oner was ko´d by bums when he was active. Gomez would put him into a coma if he lands a clean shot on him.

gomez has 7 children & doesnt pay for them? sounds like another cuban who got away but lived in the fastlane & now hes broke...i know he failed a ******* test after the first mccall fight(might of been after another fight)& hasnt really been that much of a factor in the division other then a couple euro wins on his resume.virchis,sam,& mccall(42 at the time)are really his only wins.omar did get him to a title shot & had him set for another regional title fight(wbc latino belt)that could have shot him back up the wbc rankings...his decision to go back to universum is odd....hes done as a signifigant contender.
