Im a fan. I met him numerous times and he was polite every time. He signed some gloves for me and he actually stayed and signed at least 1000 different items that day. He gives back to his community and he donates alot to charity through his foundation. He is a great Boxer and I would love to see him fight the best more often and also be more aggresive but I can't knock his hustle. He is even trying to clean up Boxing with the Random blood tests. He justs needs to make up his mind ASAP on his Pacquiao plans.

I can't bring myself the hate the guy. There's no reason for it. He fights to make money. He fights to win. And he wins. It's not the gritty, bloody slugfests that make highlight reels, but those guys pay a heavy price for those wars. And those wars tend to happen because they don't have the skills to avoid them.

Mayweather wasn't born with Mike Tyson's physical gifts. He doesn't have knock out power. He makes do with what he has, which is quickness and adaptability. So what if it's not going to be replay material decades laterl. I doubt that was ever his intention in the first place. I doubt Miguel Cotto goes into a fight thinking: "I hope they replay this fight on ESPN2 in twenty years." He goes in with the same mindset everyone else does - to win and get paid.

He'll probably keep doing what he's been doing. It's working. It sells tickets. It sells PPV buys. Even if people are watching to see him lose, he's still getting paid.

Edit: Before you call me a *****, just know that I'm actually a pretty big fan of Manny Pacquiao.
mayweather has the skills to avoid them alright.
just don't take fights against dangerous opponents!

How excatly? There were only 2 people tested and those are Floyd and Mosley in thier own fight

You see fighters siding with Floyd saying they support his testing yet nobody has done the testing other hen FLoyd

That's actually not true. Many fighters have sided with him, including Allan Green & Andre Ward, who have taken random testing for their Super 6.

Team Sauerland has agreed to extensive drug testing via the German National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), becoming the first and only boxing stable to have far-reaching agreements in place with the NADA. All Sauerland boxers as well as their opponents are subject to random testing during practice and after the fights. “That is a milestone for boxing,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “We have agreed to thorough testing. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards doping.”

Spaniard Pablo Navascues lost his shot at Sebastian Sylvester´s IBF Middleweight Title after testing positive for banned substances during a random training test. He was replaced by Billy Lyell, who suffered a tenth-round TKO defeat on January 30.

Being defensive is just a new fad that's killing combat sports. Fighters of the old days were always encouraged to be exciting.... win the crowd! get the big purse. Be dynamic. BE EXCITING -Cus D'amato.

It's easier to dodge and evade a punch than it is to land one. If I have defense first in mind..... And the other poor bloke has been trolled into making an exciting fight.... or he comes out to KO me. I'll beat him. I can throw 10 punches a round. Pick my shots... and evade the rest of his punches with my hands down. It's a lot easier than to reach out, risk getting hit and punching him in the face. Defense first, John Ruiz can win a world title with his boring ass defense first clinching style.

I am a state wrestling champ in college. it's always easier to defend a take-down than it is to execute a take-down. Same thing. If a dude decides to take the floyd mayweather, defense first approach.... all he'd do is come out low and stuff everyone's take-downs.
Defense's superiority as a combat tactic was documented in both Miyamoto Musashi's Book of Five Rings and Art of War by Sun Tzu. While not everyone can get to Pernel, Locke, Mayweather levels, thats more because it takes a different mindset and discipline to be damn good at it. But your right, defense first is strategically superior than offense first.

OLYMPIC DRUG TESTS FOR ANDRE WARD-ALLAN GREEN TITLE BOUT

May 12th, 2010 By Pedro Fernandez

GREEN & WARD SPAR 3,000 MILES APART

Oakland, CA- One of the few telling things that came out of the press conference at the Oracle Arena announcing World & WBA 168 lb. champion Andre Ward’s June 19th title defense against once beaten Allan Green, was that Green was in Miami on a closed circuit TV feed. “I’m not breaking up my training for a press conference.”

GREEN GIVES OAKLAND CROWD THE FINGER!

Outside of Green flashing the people in Oakland the bird, this when he was asked about one of his fingers that was taped up, the most significant thing to come out of a Goossen-Tutor PR affair, both fighters both agreed to taking Olympic style testing for performance enhancing drugs.

WARD FEELS LIKE MAYWEATHER ON ISSUE

When I asked, what about Olympic style drug testing, Ward said, “I’m all for it.” Green was asked if we would agree to testing that includes blood and urine testing, he didn’t have a problem with it at all.

A whole fight promotion of fighters under random drug testing in Europe:

Team Sauerland has agreed to extensive drug testing via the German National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), becoming the first and only boxing stable to have far-reaching agreements in place with the NADA.
