So tell everyone there is a deal in place, but don't release the details so you can make sure that both sides will not have any animosity towards each other and protect both fighters from any criticism, it's better to keep it civil and hopefully they'll eventually get a deal done.
Then put a clock on the website counting down time. Then hold a 3 AM presser saying floyd didn't sign so we are looking for other options. Then go on the radio telling the same story yet never show what was signed. How, without any facts, do you just blindly believe Bob Arum?
Yet another poster who simply refuses to let Bob Arum piss in his pocket and tell him it's raining
I will re-post this, and add some new information at the bottom.....
If Mayweather doesn't want to fight Manny.....
..... then why did he sign the contract back in January?
We would have watched the fight already if Manny had agreed to the same terms back then, that he so desperately wants now?
On May 10th, Ellerbe publicly stated that there will be NO NEGOTIATIONS !!
About a month ago, Bob Arum publicly stated that GBP were negotiating with Mayweather..... now he denies that, and name-drops Ross Greenburg.
We still have not, and will not, hear a word from Ross Greenburg on this issue.
If Bob Arum and Ross Greenburg aren't playing this together, it is even possible that Bob sent Ross an e-mail asking him to contact Haymon in order to confirm some little detail, under the guise of "negotiations", to cover himself with Greenburg.
And now Arum is "surprised" to hear Team Mayweather denying that official negotiations actually took place.
Well, well..... I guess Arum will have to bite the bullet and proceed with plan B, which was conveniently all ready to go, and which will (coincidentally) ensure that Top Rank make THE MOST MONEY POSSIBLE, before Mayweather ends the fairy-tale in 2011.
It just sounds a little suspect to me, especially considering that dirty snake Arum is right in the middle of all this.
Here's how it works for me.....
if two people are calling each other a liar, and one of those two people happens to be Bob "yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth" Arum.....
..... then Arum will almost certainly be the one who is lying, especially seeing that he already contradicted himself when he said that GBP were representing Mayweather, and even more especially seeing that he stands a lot to gain from Manny fighting all available Top Rank opponents before a finale with Mayweather.
Also.....
Richard Schaefer 100% supports Leonard Ellerbe's assertion that ol' Uncle Bob is a dirty lying snake..... http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=29448
SUCKERS.....YOU ARE ALL BEING PLAYED BY BOB ARUM
In life there exists such statements that require a small thing called "proof" in order to substantiate them, of course I realize your brain operates in an alternate universe, where blank statements require no proof....I'll save you the response, since I already know it will be something to which you think is either sarcastic and/or witty, falling short on both accounts.
has anyone ever concluded that mayweather priced himself out of this fight purposely asking for 60/40 or more.
floyd is a smart guy, all these nuthuggers say floyd is such a smart business man,
well wouldnt he know that 60/40 would price him out of the fight??
i think so.
why have certain stipulations in january then when pac agrees to them finally why change them ???
how would a fighter deserve more than FIGHTER OF THE DECADE?

does that make sense?
FOTD doesn't matter if you draw less than the guy you are fighting. Manny is not in position to offer anything to floyd as he is the opponent in this fight. The stips were changed after pac refused them in January, you know that.
Awards does not determine how much you make as a fighter. The more you draw the more you get paid. The more ppv's you sell, the more you get paid. The higher your tv raings the more you get paid. SImple really this business is about putting a$$es in the seats, not winning awards.

i understand that, but what i am saying with mannys ego as well wouldnt mayweather know that manny would not be of accepting an insulting offer(to himself) like that?
floyd knows manny is not tim bradley, that with all mannys awards and his name and ability to sell out crowds with good ppv's, wouldnt floyd know manny wouldnt be agreeable from the get to and may floyd just be pricing himself out of the fight to get out of it?
secondly, manny has been able to make good money and sell well also.

I'm sorry, but giving manny a chance to at very least double his highest career payday is in no way insulting. manny may think he desrves more but the numbers don't suggest it.
Manny sells well we agree. But he doesn't sell the most. floyd sells the most. A 55/45 split seems fair given the actual numbers. Manny and floyd get their highest payday and everyone should be happy!

50-50 is fair my friend.
if you have two teams in the superbowl, the two best teams in the sport playing against eachother for the rights to see who is the very best, both with comparable figures, then how would u pay one team more than another?
who has made the sport more money in the last 3-4 years all together..?
manny or floyd?
i would think manny since he has been much more active.

floyd has made more money for the sport that is not in question. Your super bowl analogy IMO, respectfully doesn't apply. Boxing isn't a league and floyd and manny are not teams.
Revenues should be split based on who produces more revenue. What manny gets paid in 2010 floyd was making in 2007. No offense, but manny may never get paid the $22.5 mil floyd got paid.
I understand why you want 50/50 but manny has to bring more to the table. When 15k fans generate more money than 51k fans that says it all.
