Comments Thread For: Schaefer Not Surprised Amir Khan is Targeting Bradley

A lot of people were surprised when 23-year-old WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KOs) issued a public challenge to Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11KOs), who holds the WBO's version of the 140-pound crown. Khan, using his personal Twitter account, challenged Bradley to a fight. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who promotes Khan, was not surprised in the least.

Shafaer is already going to place Khan with Marquez. The easiest option takes it. I really hope Marquez rejects like last time.

Throwing other names around is just a smokescreen for their real intentions.

If Khan fights Victor Ortiz, Marcos Maidana, or Tim Bradley next he'll gain back my respect.

Bradley owns Khan in a big way if they fight in december. Hot air from Khan though...he wont take that fight, not yet anyway.

Either way you think it, he IS stepping up. I do think this guy is boxing's next cash cow. No matter how people view him here. He is gaining popularity in places faster then Americans.

How much did Bradley's not being a big puncher play into his decision. With all respect to Khan fans you have to admit, fighting Maidana would be proper before much longer.

i think khan is a good boxer, but that doesn't mean i respect him as a boxer. it's not extraordinay to be good at any sport, it's when one step up the plate and faces the real challenge. Bradley, Ortiz or Maidana. That's a lot of options but how long will he keep ducking them?
