This fight needs to happen in Dallas Staidum. There's a huge Mexican and a substantial Filipino community in Texas. There will be a lot more people than in the Clottey fight. Also, I live about 4 hours away, that means I could attend the fight.

Of course the time of the show will be to cater to the US audience. This is a no brainer, it couldn't happen any other way.

The substantive difference there is that SHO paid a license fee for the fight. So there was no economic risk for Warren.

Bob seemed to indicate that HBO may not even distribute it.

Still, it is smart for Arum to keep finding these creative, smoke-n-mirrors ways to get Pac's (and Cotto's) fights to sell. In the absence of compelling fights, he is creating "events".

When you have Pac-Cotto, that sells itself. Put in in a traditional venue.
When you have a less desirable matchup, create excitement around an exotic venue (Cowboys & Yankees stadium, Abu Dhabi, Lunar Surface, etc).

PPV will be weak. But Bob will get a big check for the site fee.

10 hour time difference from east coast so it is definitely doable., so they can fight at 2 pm locally and midnight eastern, 11pm central, 10pm mountain, 9pm pacific.

          I think it's a cool idea.

I still say that if I were promoting Pac, I would stage a bigh fight in Macau.

                - They would do in the morning just like Tyson-Douglas was in the morning.

                - Interesting venue and how Arum isn't gonna even try (or is he? idk) to get a one fight licensing plea from the NSAC. I have a feeling Margarito will never fight in the U.S. since he's reluctant to go to the CSAC.

                - Criminals will always make more money somehow, what angers me is that Margarito is getting the chance at title he doesn't deserve and the chance to beat Pacquiao (highly unlikely I know). Fck it, it ain't fair, but 'power that be' and those who support it will allow it.

                - This fight doesn't do more than 1 million PPV buys and finally...

                - Will this be a HBO PPV production or a Top Rank PPV? I heard Arum boasting how he's gonna spend so much on this next fight (the marg-pac fight).

Lots of big events go down there. But why Abu Dhabi and not Dubai? Dubai seems to be a smarter choice seeing that it is a bigger and richer city. Also there are lots of events to attend there. Dubai is probably the livest city in the world with all the stuff that goes on there.

What I am saying is that the Filipinos there are not like the ones in the west. Those ones are for the most part Filipinos that grew up and lived their whole lives in the Filipines and are on temporary work visas carrying out short term low paying jobs. Most of the construction workers over there are Pakistanis, Indians, Filipinos, and people from ****ledesh.

I wasn't contradicting you, I was reiterating the logic.

Yes, you certainly make a good point in regards to the socioeconomics of it. As for the venue, Dubai would seem the more logical venue, I guess it has to do with the partners in the ME.
