      Leonard Ellerbe -

“Ain’t nobody thinking about Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum or Freddie Roach,” Ellerbe said. “Floyd isn’t thinking about none of them, and there ain’t no negotiations starting, period. Floyd is just coming off a great win. He’s not thinking about any of them.”

“Who are they negotiating with, themselves?”

      --------------------------------------------

According to that quote from Ellerbe, and judging by the fact that Arum lied by stating that GBP were in negotiation with Mayweather..... it looks like Team Mayweather never actually entered into negotiations with Team Pacquiao after all.

As confusing as this all may seem, there is one thing for sure, one very reliable pointer, one undeniable fact..... Bob Arum is as dirty as they come, and it just so happens that he has a lot to gain from a Marg(TR)/Manny(TR) fight, as well as a Cotto(TR)/Manny(TR) fight..... especially if he thinks that Mayweather will likely be the end of the road for Manny, as I do.

The perfect scenario for Bob Arum would be to have every available in-house fight, before a Mayweather finale..... ensuring the best possible payday for Top Rank, and the best chance that the mantle remains with Top Rank if an upset happens before the Mayweather fight.

Not saying that this viewpoint is the ****, just pointing out that it is a much more substantial theory than.....
Floyd is gay : Manny Fans
Manny is gay : Floyd fans

Just think about it for a sec..... especially if you know Bob Arum as well as i do.

        Hi there Suckapunch, ol' buddy!

That thing about Floyd waiting for May that you responded to with the above comment had me going back to Floyd's record and found that:

        1. Of Floyd's 41 career fights only five were in the month of May, thus, Mosley, De La Hoya, Corley, Carlos Hernandez and Justin Juuku.

        2. Of the five fights held in May, only three were held in Vegas, namely, Mosley early this year, De La Hoya about three years ago, and Juuku all the way back in '99--more than eleven years ago. The Corley fight was in Atlantic City and Hernandez was in Grand Rapids.

        3. Floyd has fought 17 times in Vegas and only three of those fights as above cited, were in the month of May and only two can be considered big fights, i.e., Mosley and De La Hoya; Juuku was not even a title fight.

Floyd fought Diego Corrales in January, Castillo in April and then again in December, Judah in April, Baldomir in November, Hatton in December and JMMarquez in September.

Floyd therefore has had an equal number of title fights in Vegas in April and in December as he has had in May, thereby lending grave doubt on his claimed preference for fighting in Vegas in the month of May.
