maybe, one of those 26 opponents had to put up somewhat of a fight... they are professionals, right?
yeah, morrade hakkar put up an admirable effort, but hopkins skills were just too much for him
he's a smart businessman, and chose his fights wisely, except the roy jones mishap
his longevity and dedication to his craft is what makes him great, and id agree he's great, but no time in his career would he have beaten roy jones, and right now he wont beat taylor
To be honest, I don't think the version of Joppy that Taylor beat looked any worse (at least athletically) than the one Hopkins or Trinidad beat. He was just plain outsized against a younger very skilled boxer, and after trying for a few rounds, he basically gave up trying to win and just worried about survival.
Interesting you mention Trinidad and Hopkins. I believe these two guys are responsible for Joppy looking a bad as he did against the bigger Taylor. I'm guessing the 2004 version of Joppy that Taylor faced would be considered a second-tier version of the Joppy that faced both Felix and BHop.
Against Hopkins, I don't see Taylor imposing his size like he's done so far at Middle. Things change when you loose you height advantage and the reach difference is narrowed. I don't like Taylor's chances in this new challenge.
