Hopkins is a monster. He looks like he could make 154 if he wanted to. Taylor is going to have to be at his zenith for 12 and I highly doubt he'll be able to hang with Hop for even 10.

taylor is winning this fight no doubt, but whats sad is that he'll never get full credit for it.

when he wins, its gonna be "hopkins turns old overnight", just like it was with hatton beating tszyu, and so on.

oh well, it was a nice run against B and C level fighters, or the occasional overrated or over his weight class A fighters, bhop.

Personally I think it's way too early for Taylor. He's going to be damaged goods after this fight. As it's been said before, Hopkins ruins fighters. I can't believe all of the nonsense I've been hearing about "Taylor has nothing to lose!". If he gets whupped bad enough, it could spell the end his career before it ever really got started.

Well said. We've never had excuses from Hops. Even if Taylor lands that "Lottery Punch", Hops won't start making excuses.

This post mentions one actual fight, Joppy. I don't think many fight fans give Taylor much credit for beating the version of Joppy he faced. Do you Manny? I thought Joppy looked shot-to-hell.

To be honest, I don't think the version of Joppy that Taylor beat looked any worse (at least athletically) than the one Hopkins or Trinidad beat. He was just plain outsized against a younger very skilled boxer, and after trying for a few rounds, he basically gave up trying to win and just worried about survival.
