And Marg Beat Cotto who beat Mosley see how the triangle theory fails no matter how you use it.

I think Pac's legacy is fine as it is, and a Margarito fight would be entertaining if the Floyd fight falls through.

Well In a nutshell Martinez was the champ but vacated the title. This lead to a series of events that help Margarito propel up their rankings

1.Cintron was a highly rated but after the Martinez fight fiasco and the Williams b.s. the WBC decided to drop him down there rankings.

            2. Chavez Jr. then moved up to the number 1 spot but he got banned last year and when he came back, he was still kept his ranking, but his team chose to make the move to 160 and fight Duddy instead

            3. Canelo Alvarez was rated high, but again GBP felt he was too green

            4. Ryan Rhodes then shot to the #2 spot since he is the BBU Champ but when Margarito beat Garcia and won the international middleweight title he leap frogged Rhodes and became the number 2 guy moving Rhodes to #3. Since Chavez Jr. wanted to move to 160, both guys bumped up a spot.

There are a few more things but I'm trying to keep this short.

Anways the WBC wanted to get a champ so they tried to make moves to make a fight for the vacant belt.

            1. First option was to push for Chavez against either Rhodes or Margarito but Jr's team was against that.

2.Next, the WBC then tried to push for option number 2 which was to match the number 2 and 3 guys, Margarito and Rhodes, together. Frank Warren wanted Rhodes to face someone else (Lukas Konecny)in the UK first so

            3. Was to get another belt holder from 154 but Dzin had contract issues and a long layoff, Spinks has been real inactive and Foreman was signed to face Cotto

After exhausting those options, according to WBC rules, which have been in place for years, they deciding to go to a 4th option which is to take the number one contender and match him against a belt holder from a division above or a division below. Now way in hell does any MW champ make 154 so they looked to 147. Manny was the WBO champ, One of the most popular fighters at the time, so they wanted to push for this, hence their recent articles about a potential matchup with the belt on the line.

here is a link to some of the stuff I was talking about
            http://www. 24.com/2010/07/margarito-could-face-rhodes-for-vacant-wbc-light-middleweight-title/

in between the "www." and "24" insert "boxingnews"

So that you don't think I'm talking out my ass here is the rules regarding the steps the WBC takes to fill vacant titles (it's on page 9-10)

I know most will be mad for the WBC for making Pacquiao vs Margarito for the vacant title, but according to the rules they have had in place for a long time, they are actually doing what they are suppose to do, especially considering they have exhausted all there other options before trying to make Pacquiao vs Margarito for the Vacant title.

BTW sorry for this poorly written piece. I'm about to go to sleep and I'm typing all of this off the top of my head from the various article I have read over the past month or so.

his legacy is fine and to be clear panda is not placing any questionmarks next to pacquiao's opponents but it cant be denied that since this is for a paper title against a guy with 6 legit losses and a questionable reputation this will hurt pac's legacy. why would anyone give a cheater a shot at a career high payday against the world's #1 fighter, even if this is for an unprecedented 8th division title how would that go down in the history books. thats my concern

Margarito brings nothing to the table but he can take everything.

He is huge risk and thats why Gayweather ducked him.

This fight could possibly be relevant to pacs legacy but only if margs was to fight and beat a top contender or weaker champion before this fight is made. as of right now margs is coming off a ko loss a suspension and a fight against a no name guy which only sold 15k ppvs. why not put margs in with berto and make this fight mean something? is the november date that important?

Arum gets more money and Pac gets another worthless belt. Thats the long and short of it.
