all roads lead to floyd mayweather. he made his point by not saying anything period. konzc, pacquiao, arum, and top rank look like some jackasses. its time to save face with a washed up cotto or a cheater that would fight for anything including a pile of ****(MARGACHEATO).

Based on this transcript, Arum talked to Greenburg, told him what Pac was willing to accept and said 'Floyd can take it or leave it.' Floyd chose to leave it. I don't blame him. There were no negotiations. This was nothing more than a bullying tactic by Arum. He never spoke to GBP, never made an agreement with GBP and did not negotiated in good faith.

Considering that he has been lying for the last two weeks about having an agreement with GBP, I don't believe Arum when he says that Haymon signed off on the deal. I would bet that Greenburg told Haymon that Arum and Pac were only willing to do a 50-50 split with a 14-day cutoff on drug testing and were not willing to negotiate any further. Haymon took the deal to Floyd and Floyd ignored it. Then, Arum began with all the bull**** about an agreement with GBP and the rest of the crap he has been feeding the idiots in the media and the nitwits on this site.

All roads lead to Andre Ward's cheating, headbutting, Victor Conte employing style.

As much as I dislike Arum and think he is full of **** when it comes to the Mayweather/Pac negotiations, I do agree with one thing he said and I was actually thinking the same thing yesterday before the press conference. He said other promoters don't promote their fighters well. He said they take the money from HBO or Showtime and make it sound like they are doing their fighters a favor. They don't invest any of their own money, aren't willing to sponsor any PPVs or take any risks.

I think he is right. I think Timothy Bradley, Andre Berto, Devon Alexander and Paul Williams are as talented or more talented than Miguel Cotto. The difference is that Arum did a great job of promoting Cotto. He was willing to take risks, lose money, sponsor his own PPV shows with Cotto headlining them and do whatever it took to build him as an attraction. I think Cotto is a good, not great fighter, who has been promoted very well and now has the undeserved reputation of a boxing superstar because of that promotion (I said the same thing about Oscar De La Hoya). Bradley, who also is a good talent, has not been promoted well. His promoter, along with the promoters of all the other fighters I mentioned, simply take whatever dates and money HBO and Showtime and the casinos are willing to give them and give their fighters a cut of the money. If they were promoted the way Arum has promoted Cotto, Paul Williams and Timothy Bradley and Berto would be at the same level as Cotto is right now.

Arum was definitely careful with his words last night in his conference call regarding Mayweather(Much more so than he really should have been IMO) because it is apparent he wants this fight badly for Pacquiao and the boxing fans in the world. He gave FM a easy out with the legal trouble with his Uncle and advised journalists to not be too tough on him, as FM has a legit reason for not fighting in 2010. (Again others may have said get the yellow streak off your back, show some sack, and fight!)

I think what comes next is a tough fight for Pacquiao at Jr Middleweight(I think this may be a step too far north of 147, and we may see a catch weight of 150-152) with Margarito in Monterrey, Mx (Tax free will add 30% to Arum and Pacs purse)
It will be a war which I think the faster MP get the late KO over the tough Mexican brawler. Just my 2 cents

Bob Arum may promote the hell out of his fighters but only to set them up for the no lube raping they'll get later while other promoters attempt to allow their fighters to make more money instead of using their money to promote them. Don't get it twisted, Bob is all about the Top Rank brand and is always looking for ways to build it that's his reason for great promotion but I agree TR does a great job promoting their fighters.
