Exactly. Does Joshua Clottey have a big following, does Joshua Clottey sell tickets?
Tim Bradley and Paul Williams would be far more worthy challengers than Clottey was.

mayweather did the talking about mosley not being a ppv attraction...
in pacs case, its not him thats doing the talking, its arum...
also, how do you know that those people you say can beat pac will really beat pac?
you're making up your own double standards

So what is this big ppv attraction bull**** talk? Pacquiao fighting an undefeated young and hungry fighter wouldn't be an attraction? Give me a break Arum don't wanna lose his cash cow.

I think Pacquiao is the ultimate short cut taking fighter to glory. I don't think there's a more blatant case than what he's done. Just take a look at his resume.
Barrera 1 - Ok, good win but it's well documented that Barrera's training camp got burned down by a forest fire. Can't knock this win though really.
JMM 1 - I actually give Pac credit for this fight.
The Morales trilogy - It is what it is, but the third fight didn't really enhance Pacquiao's legacy that much. I enjoyed watching the series though.
Larios - Had just been KOd at 122 by Israel Vasquez.
Barrera 2 - Coming off a loss to JMM.
JMM 2 - I had Pac winning this fight even though it was close. No complaints from me there.
But David Diaz - So here Pacquiao takes a 3 million dollar paycut to fight this guy who couldn't even put away a journeyman with one KO on the Pac-JMM 2 undercard instead of giving a rubber match to JMM which everybody was clamoring for. This right here proves Arum is a contradicting *****. Garbage win.
Oscar - Valero was slapping him around. Nothing else needs said.
Hatton - Had just been made to look like an amateur against Floyd and had to have the ref save him against Lazcano and the black eye he had while talking to Lampley at ringside about the future of the fight proves that this win is overrated as hell. Lara was busting Hatton's ass.
Cotto - Only on a two fight winning streak against a bum and Clottey who has always shown to be an ordinary fighter. And the Margarito demon coupled with the catch weight.
Clottey - Again, why can Pacquiao avoid Paul Williams and Bradley but fight Clottey who is a big Welterweight too. He had just lost to Cotto. Pointless fight.
Floyd could be ducking this fight for all I care. But at least he isn't fighting rematches against people who fans have no interest in. I don't know why people accuse Floyd of ducking this and that guy, but at the same time give Pacquiao a pass for skipping over a slew of top fighters in and around his weight class. If Floyd turned down guys like Bradley or Williams, people would say he's a *****. But Pacquiao does it, and people say blame it on Arum. Get the fuck outta here with that mess.

Bradley is well conditioned and actually goes the full 12 on very high activity.
Also, lets say for example Margarito could beat the crap out of Bradley (Which I highly doubt)...does that actually mean Margarito would pose a bigger threat to Pacquiao? Come on man, be real. You should know better...

I think it's kinda disrespectful for a guy, who hasn't put in the type of work that those two have, to ask for a fight....especially when they got opportunties right in front of them that will get them in a position to ask for a mega fight like that.
Bradley needs to handle either Maidana, Khan or Alexander...especially the latter since Devon is willing to face him. I just can't see a guy like Bradley, who hasn't paid his dues, asking for a fight against either Floyd or Manny and getting a serious response back from those two.
I'm sure if anyone remember this, but this reminds me of when Lenny Cook was in highschool, and Kobe was giving a speech to him and several other highschool all-stars. Lenny Cook called out Kobe and Kobe told him "put in the work, get in the league first, and I won't have any problems giving you 50[points]"
In similar fashion, If Bradley beats either of those guys at 140, then he can get it as well.
look at the names that pac/mosley fought: barera, marquez, morales, delahoya, winky wright, cotto, clottey, etc...what big names have bradley fought?
pacs 7 fights against marquez(2)/barera(2)/morales(3) alone is a better resume than bradleys entire pro careerLast edited by indystress; 07-17-2010, 02:51 PM.

thing is you fight pacquiao you become a PPV attraction.
Arum just wants to pull some wax off Pacman to put some of that shine on his own fighters.
Problem is they don't stand a chance besides all the handwarap crap.
Marg will get stopped just like he got stopped by Mosley last year. I like the way he came up in weight sounds interesting and all BUT he is no Paul Williams. Maybe Marg plans to fight Paul Williams?
Also Berto would be a good fight too. Welterweight title there would put Pac at the top of the welterweight div.
Seems to me he likes to go for the paper belts and the chump/champs and teach them some boxing lessons.
What Pac doesn't see is Bob Arum is just lining up chumps for him to smash. Wheres Mosley, Gatti, Baldomir, Judah, Castillo on Pac's resume?
Nowhere! He should be fighting the likes of Berto, Williams, Bradley and Alexander if he wants to get my respect.
He only picks up on Mayweather's scraps..

I still don't think Arum's offer was legit either. We didn't hear anything come out of Pacquiao or Floyd's mouth. So if you are an unbiased observer, you would say that we are still stuck at a stand still with these two guys. I understand this fight needs time to get promoted, but my god Arum only had this deadline in play for a week. Why haven't we heard anything from Floyd? I'm inclined to say that nobody even informed him about the negotiations while he was training fighters at his gym and he hasn't accepted the fight because of that. People just wanna let their hate cloud their judgement. But why did every little nitty gritty detail about this fight only come out of Arum's mouth? That's the point I'm just trying to make.
