The only time I think Vegeta was stronger was when he was fighting Frieza while Goku was in the Capsule on namek. When Goku came out he went ssj1.

The other time is when Vegeta came out of the room of space and time (hyperbolic time machine) and he was super vegeta. But when Goku came out he was super stronger.

Goku was always stronger. Well most of the time. I don't really count the 1st fight because there was alot of disturbance. Krillin and Gohan. Vegeta was beastin' as the Ape though. But Gohan is the one who finished the battle when he fell on him.

Trunks is a boy.
He went to the past and saved Goku.
But Gohan taught Trunks alot. Gohan was his master.

In the present time. But in the other timeline Goku probably did? hmm.. Or not.
Trunks also beat #18 #17 and imperfect Cell.
But Gohan beat Perfect Cell!

Goku and Vegeta fought twice and both times ended up 1-1(Goku had help the first time he fought Vegeta, and the 2nd time Vegeta knocked Goku out when he wasn't paying attention).

I always believed Vegeta was stronger though. In a 1 on 1 battle, Vegeta is far too ruthless to lose to Goku

Vegeta has never been stronger than Goku, the first time they fought he won because of the moon.

The second time they fought Goku was holding back. If he went Ssj3 he would have mopped the floor with Vegeta. Last time Vegeta was stronger/equal to Goku in strength was the beginning of android saga.

Apparently the ''scraps'' made him stronger. Kurrin couldn't have beaten him because he was pissing himself along with everyone else.

DBZ was supposed to be about Gohan, not Goku. Hence all his "unlocked potential" being the first to go SS2, hell being a preteen going SS1. He was far advanced to Goku in progression but less popular so the writers progressed more with Guku (hence the 10000000 resurrections).
