Bob Arum doesn't even know who Martinez is, lol.

Arum only cares about money and he's going to make a fight that can make him millions. Cotto is going to wait until next year to fight JCC? Cotto and Margacheato don't have an opponent.

Tell me who Williams can fight if he doesn't fight Martinez for a bigger payday than what HBO is offering right now for this fight.

He's the lineal and true MW champ and at best their fight should have been a draw. This is more than a legitimate offer. This would be considered a duck if he doesn't take this fight. He's chasing a pipe dream of a fight with Floyd or Manny.

What I think the real issue is that he knows Sergio was a late replacement and was still able to get the drop on him, give Sergio a complete training camp then who knows. Plus...P. Williams was getting sparked by Cintron before Cintron jumped to the hills...Williams jaw is getting cracked wide open
Um Martinez doesnt draw a crowd either bro.

If you are going to comment on this matter bring facts to the table. How is he afraid of Martinez when he offered Martinez an immediate rematch that Sergio turned down? Speak what you know my dude.

Sparked by Cintron? You must be Puerto Rican.

You think a 40 year old Shane Mosley is fighting 3 times in one year?

Who said it would be this year???

He can take a tune up then fight Mosley. He only put in 3 1/2 rounds before that ***git leaped out the ring.

But I think he'll fight Martinez or Dzinziruk.

Sergio and Paul both need to fight this year because they need to build up their resume and they're not big stars that can fight once a year.

Nobody wants to see Williams fight Mosley.

                    Dan Rafael (12:48 PM)

I won't call him a ducker but I will give you the facts as I know them: There is a $3 million offer on the table from HBO for the fight. Martinez is willing to go 50-50 for the fight on Oct. 2. That is obviously a fair deal. Yes, Paul beat him the first time but it was a bit of a controversial decision and since then Martinez won the middleweight championship. Neither guy is a proven much bigger draw than the other guy. So 50-50 is fair. The Williams side is still looking for a welterweight fight that doesn't exisit and, I am told, that they asked for 60-40 against Martinez, which obviously isn't likely to happen. If the Martinez side caved in and gave him 60-40 shame on them.
I'm pretty sure this fight will get made.
